Good Cheap Video Card

Could a new graphics card still help? I dont wanna spend a buncha extra money on RAM as well as a card and then discover I didnt need it. Could it also be possible that my game is just screwed anyway?

RAM and graphics will both help a lot...RAM is cheeper, but you will need a new graphics card eventually anyway.

How about an extra 512 ram, under £50 and a 9800 Pro like mine, somebody said earlier that they are under $100.

It really depends on your whole system aswell though, like your CPU, and I wouldnt spend any money on upgrading your computer if the game wont work anyway. I'm sure that if you make a thread on "Game crashing to desktop" somebody will help you out. Before you do that thought search the forum for any topics on it becuase I'm sure i've seen some before.

Where do I buy RAM? I think I found a decent card...But I've no clue whatsoever where to buy RAM...And I'd prefer it cheap...Of course..I could just hint at it for my birthday

im running a custom, high, medium 2aa, with lighting on med, and shadows and dynamic lighting on low... im upgrading to 1 gig of ram wich i hope can put my shadows on medium or high

best buy, you can buy two, 512 which will equal 1 gig(you probaly have PC3200 slot) and you can get it for $200.. you probaly have two, 256 and thats 512... now you have to buy ram in Two's.. waste of money, but maybe sell your two 256's for $150, and get yourself $50

A good video card is always worth the investment, it can breath new life into an older system.

Look at it this way, the more video data your card can process on it's own (and the faster it can do so) the less load there is on the core CPU. If your whole computer slows down running graphic intensive games, you may be bottlenecking in the video department.

I'm running a P4 2.8ghz with only 768mb of DDR SDRAM, but I have an NVidia GeForce 6800 OC 128mb and BF2 runs like water at 1280x1024@75hz.

Before I put in this factory-over-clocked Nvidia card, I was about ready to shoot my PC for how poorly it ran America's Army. Now it's like a whole new machine.

Get a 6600 GT <--- Great card... probably the best bang for your buck. Can be found for about $150 ... or even less probably. It's better than the 9800 PRO.
