does artillary ever strike the same place twice? (in the same arty strike) becuase I have an inkling that it doesn't. If it doesn't then you could stay in the arty zone and just move to the place where a shell just landed and wait it out.
Please let us know how this *lightning theory* of artillery works out. Until then, I'll just run like hell and get to cover.
:p
It's automatic, just like the "Supplies in your area" voice over and text.
not always...
(in commander mode) you can right click on the desired squad which you want to say it too, after which a menu of commands will appear and click on the one that says "move!, artillery your area"

As was pointed out in a previous post, the splash damage is enough to do you in (although, don't forget you can sometimes get away with only being critically wounded...so any medics in the area could help you out)
I thought about the whole "does arty strike the same place twice" thing when the demo came out and tried it out. It's kind of a 50/50 thing. Sometimes you'll survive, sometimes a nearby hit will take you out. If I am suddenly caught in the middle of an arty strike out in the open with no cover, and aren't killed in the first round our two, I just run towards the nearest strike anyways....way I see it is, since I got caught off guard what have I got to lose?
If I am ever stuck in an arty strike - my first inclination is to run to the closest hit - I have done well so far. As a medic I immediately pull my med pack and sprint to that spot - I usually will take damage but heal it off before I take more.
I have found that almost 100% if I am in a hummer or jeep going through and arty attack - I can survive - going to the spots that were just hit - you do take splash damage, but better that than driving right into a shell.
I wish as a commander I had a better way of knowing what squad a player was in so that I could warn them. Squad leaders are easy to tell - but squad members you have to look them up - which by the time you can warn them - they are usually dead.
And what is with squads being Alpha Bravo, etc - but as for commanding goes - they are 1, 2, 3 - I hate that shit - PICK ONE AND USE IT - lmao. How hard would it be to put a little A instead of 1 above their head on the map??! I mean seriously!!!
