True, hopefully this works.

However, I am lazy and don't want to click on the map. I just want to select every squad and say "ARTILLERY, YOUR AREA!" give them all the heads up at once :)

I have too much to do as commander. . .drop arty, spot guys, set UAV, fix my arty/uav/satscan and (go figure) command people. . .to go around clikcing individual people on the map.

But considering I don't care too much about my stats, the only reason I care when I blow one of them up is because my team loses a ticket.

Are you sure you giving the lone wolfs orders? when i tried that as commander, although it "deselected" the current squad i was controling on the MAP and "selected" the other player on the MAP, when i looked at the squad list on the left, the LAST selected squad was still highlighted, and when i talked to him with VOIP the "deselcted" squad was still getting the orders. so i think it might just look like you are ordering the lone wolfs, but actually not.

I of course might well be worng, but i have never, ever recieved an order as alone wolf (which i play quite a lot, always when im sniping or simply "filling in" for the roles we are lacking in the game.

lone wolves don't help the team much. I like the servers that make players join squads within a certain amount of time, or they have to leave. that's a good thing.

Good lone wolfs help a lot. Lonewolf does not mean you do not work with your team, it just means you want the freedom to make our won decision but not the responsibilty of a squad. In a squad people often have fixed classes, whne your a loinewolf you can easly change class, you can more easly take target of opportunity, you can easly just go to another part of the map, not having to worry leaving your squad alone.

For example lonewolfs are the ones that often unsuspectedly cap that flag way back that no one was guarding, then you look at your map and see one of the flags is beeing attacked bya lot of infantry, you suicide, and reappear as a sniper and go spot target on the hill. If you die and the battle is over, while the squads go in and fight for flags you go as spec op and destroy their arti.

Basicly I never wait for vehicles, I think it is a waste of time, you waiting whille you could be fighting is just stupid to me. So when ever I die I press ctrl to see if there is a tank or airplane free, and I can just go and take it, without worring leaving my squad, I can alos go in to enemy base and steel those annoying J-10;s or BH.

I do agree that squads are overall more important, but the best team is one with a few good lonewolfs, mixed in that harres the enemy and occupy them by themselfes which leaves the squads to push in and finish the job.

it's better to be in a squad, even if you're planning on sneaking in or flying around by yourself. This way you can ask for supplies, arty, UAV in your area. And you can even ask for orders, this is good for pilots (especially Jet pilots), because the commander can point out to you where he wants you to bomb. and you get a bunch of kills and help your team out.

Teaves you might be right, but he was doing everything i asked. Perhaps he was just doing his own thing and it just happened to be what i wanted. I will verify it tonight.

I'm pretty sure you can't give orders to loan wolves. I don't remember ever hearing orders as loan wolf, just the peaceful quiet of artillery falling on me. :)

Teaves you might be right, but he was doing everything i asked. Perhaps he was just doing his own thing and it just happened to be what i wanted. I will verify it tonight.

Dont get me wrong i would love it to be true, i too have seen lots of good lone wolf players. I disagree everyone should join a squad, squads should never separate from each other, they should have dedicated roles (changed only in emergency: (i.e. 3 tanks come rolling in so 3 people go AT) and stick to purely capping and defending flags. There is never a reason for a sniper to be squaded as he needs to cover a whole area, not run about with teammates.

It really annoys me when i see five squads with one player in each and a continous "you have reached the maximum number of squads" flashing away, it seems like such a waste. If you could order (and VOIP) the lone wolfs it would make things better i agree, i would say that 50% of them really are good players, and like all things the game needs all types to function correctly, its easy to mow down a whole squad with a tank if you catch them out, but those rogue Spec-Ops with the C4 can pop out from anywhere

I have busted my headset so i cant check myself for a couple of days until a replacement arrives, so post back with your results if you manage to confirm this (or not)

I hat lone wolfs when I am the commander. You arty an area, they run in and get killed and the punish you.

Hey dumbasses, if you were in a squad, even if it was by yourself, I could easily tell you that I am dropping arty.

The only time lone wolf makes sense is if you are going to fly around in the plane the whole time.

Other than that it is better to be in a squad, even if it is by yourself. Even as Spec Ops, you can request supply drops.

How long have you played the game to make that assessment? I'll assume not very long.

2. Supply drops? Since when do supply drops make or break a game?

3. I'll continue making the top 3 AND support my team whenever they need me. While Commanders sit back, misuse the UAV, misuse the artillery, and then call us doing the WORK, dumbasses.

Those that go lone wolf need to get another game...say UT or something CS maybe.

If you are a lone wolf I automatically think you are 13 or 14 and are either a statwhore or you dont give a crap about anything other then your kills.


If you turn out to actually care about winning then great but my first impression of you is what I said above.

perhaps you need to read this thread again with the valid aspects of lone wolfs, to be honest if i see less than 3 people in squad i think the same as you, STAT WHORES! Any sniper or more then one Spec-Ops in squad and you can forget about them doing anything useful all game.

Being in a squad dosent magically make you better, it sometimes means you are too much of team player to limit yourself to one squad.

With an attitude like yours towards things you dont personally understand, its clear its you that should go back to a Deathmatch or CS (ok small difference there) or did you not even read this thread and jumped straight to the end to comment? ... figures

squad play is the only way to have fun in this game... For me at least...
pretty much 99% of games are lone worf games... they are old and lame...
why would someone buy this game and not take advantage of the squads ?

I play this game the way its supposed to be played... the way it was designed to be played... If some people want to play this game as if it were quake or halo... Fine...

If playing as a lone wolf was not part of the game, why is it POSSIBLE to go lone wolf.... use logic now, and think about it for more then a nanosecond before you rule it out with some sort of misguided remark. i play in squads i would say 75% of the time, usually the REASON i go lone wolf is because there isnt enough teamwork on the server, and i try and fill in the gaps - ever noticed how you never see an anti-tank guy in a squad, because they are a waste? well how you think those mssiles come screaming across the map from 3 different direction, YEP the lone wolfs saving your skin :)

Dont forget just because you are tagged as a "lone wolf" it dosent mean you are physically alone in the game, you can make yourself part of a SEVEN man squad if you want, or have the biggest squad if there enough of you working together.

I have to say it really surprises me that people dont realise that the majority of lone wolfs actually work hard, if they dont on the servers you use....change servers, i would hate to play where you play by the sounds of it.

You will enjoy the game so much more when you have 32 players working together, both in and out of squads, trust me

Special Ops are best served by going lone wolf or in a small squad. Running round team-handed doesn't play to the SF's advantages.
