Alextaylor your fighting a losing battle, you cant fix the stuttering its that simple, only hope is to wait for a patch and hope it fixes it. Ive stayed up all night several times tryin to fix it but nothing worked. Ive spent more time trying to fix the problem than playing the game. My problem is i have the same stuttering as always and not so long ago i got a new kind of stuttering where when i use ALT fire it stutters alot and i cant shoot right. Just wait thats all you can do.
Still getting wierd video lag - Ideas?

Thanks guys for all your feedback. I will try disabling the fast writes and sideband addressing disabled. At this point I have nothing to lose.
I've tried everything else recommended on this thread and every other 'lag' thread to no avail.
If this last attempt doesn't work I guess I'll have to wait for the patch as we all do!
Thanks again for all of your comments and assistance.Comment

Hey Wasp what is this?
One other thing I have changed in the BIOS is the HTT speed which the latest BIOS reduced to 4x by default.
What is HTT speed?Comment

My apature is set at 256 since that's my video card RAM. Should I set it to 512 as I have 2 Gig's of memory?Comment

HTT or Hyper transport is used between the CPU and devices on the motherboard such as ethernet adapters. The official and approved speed of the HTT is 800x2 = 1600Mb/sec. Older MSI BIOS'es allows this to be 5x or 1000x2. The latest BIOS update for MSI K8N Neo series has changed this so that 4x is the max setting. I guess the 4x means 4 times the CPU FSB which is 200. If you overlock it is very important to whatch the HTT speed which can often cause problems.Originally posted by alextaylor29Hey Wasp what is this?

BTW are your 2GB of Corsair 2 x 1024 or 4 x 512MB?? Leave your AGP aperture at 256MB it's more than enough.Comment

My mem is 2 x 1 Gig of Corsair Mem. I still have 2 slots left. BF2 has been playing like butta since I did what you guys suggested and for the heck of it upped my AGP setting to 512MB. Great frame rates now and very stable more importantly.
Thanks again.Comment

Re: Still getting wierd video lag - Ideas?
i have an 8x AGP card and when i play source my system will freeze due to overheats. if i lower the card (in the video settings) to 4x AGP i can play just fine. perhaps this is the same problem in BF2 causing the intermittant stutterings? have you tried setting your video card to 4x AGP and seeing if the stutters have stopped?Comment
