    Nope, tried it all and still can't get it to look normal in game. Blah! Anyone happen to have an example pic of them NOT having this problem in a custom map?

    As far as getting it to look good in the editor, just mess with the "ground properties>general" LodSwitchDistance on the resource bar (mine's overkill, set to 900).

      OMG, I finally got it! I can't beleive I didn't notice the texture size option when you start a new map.

      Things I changed from old to new map:

      256 size to 512 (doubt that matters)
      scaled it to 1 instead of 2 (not sure about this one)
      *put the low-res size to 128.*

      I just made a testmap with some distant textured hills, and it looked normal, just like every other map! YAY, guess that just means my test map is useless. Good riddance!

        Oh wow you had it messed up way back there. Sorry for not informing people on that. Thought it was pretty well explained by saying resolution. So when making a new make make sure you scale it to one. Otherwise those blocks get bigger.
