    1) yeah most high rank ppl have no skill except stat padding

even the KD ratio is a bad reference of skill. I spend most of my time flying, so my KDR is skewed, but I am just average on the ground. Not too mention, it doesn't reflect the skill of your opponent you were playing against to get that ratio, it could have been a server full of nubs, and lord knows there are alot of them running around.

imo its the ones with the high ranks that are the ones who you want to NOT be in game with...

they are either stat padders, or vehicle whores, either which is not conducive to teamwork.

I dunno what that one server is but I heard about it vaguely on here. The one where they force people to join squads or they get kicked. I have a feeling you will find a majority of better players on a server like that. There will always be idiots but if the majority is teamwork oriented it still shines through.

They have this feature in Americas Army

it sucks when there are not a lot of servers with empty slots... and then you join one and after loading the map it says "Your honor (points) is not high enough to join this server"

I think its a great idea, but would suck for new people looking for a server.

Thats true, but on the pubs of course anyone can play - so the noobs can operate at will until they are kick/banned.

However, I have noticed more and more that in frustration, servers ARE TURNING OFF THE TK and K/B systems - SO THE NOOBS CAN HAVE A FIELD DAY AS LONG AS THEY WANT.

No, but what you and most other people here are missing, is higher ranked players have EXPERIENCE. Meaning, the majority of them know what NOT to do.

Rank doesn't exactly mean skill. A crappy player can get 20k in point. In time. Maybe a combo of rank and Gold, Silver, and Bronzes for server place.

                    What a stupid idea.

Ranking is whats stopping n00bs play as a team.
They just go for personal points at first, lots carry on point hunting even after joing clans, they cant help it.

Stats are fantastic, something we all love.
But why we should gain ranks, from points scored, instead of from a broader stat based spectrum ?
4 points for taking a flag, none for defending hour after hour so the team have a good tactical spawn point to emerge from time after time, that does not seem fair.

If you base ranking on frag rate, matches won, and teamwork score, and adjust the whole pointing system of the conflict game mode.....

Then your idea might be plausible.

very bad idea... you better hope you never want to change your nick then... b/c then you wouldnt have the rank on the new guy to get into the server

I would be totally for a minimum rank to join a server. I wouldn't be suprised if you see scripts / admin mods in the future that auto-kick if you don't meet a specific rank / amount of points.

EA can keep all of their serverse rank-free. Most large providers have atleast 6 public 64 player servers... so they could make a couple rank-free and the rest locked on rank.

It would only make the game more fun to play
VERY, VERY bad idea!!....it won't happen, thankfully

What's experience in a video game? You point, click and run/drive. I've been playing fps for a long time. Unless this is your very first online fps game, you get the idea of what needs to be done from the get go.

Length of time playing the game has nothing to do with experience. There are basically three catagories of players that come into the game 1) Those that know what to do just because they have played online games before 2) Smaktards that do **** just to try and piss you off or for their own satasfaction 3) Complete idiots that even if you held their hand they cannot grasp the concept.

I can pretty much tell you that anyone that has played BF42/BFV/DC that decides to come and play this game and is a private, will be playing way past the 'so called' first few ranks with skill. Anyone that has played UT Domination would get the idea with ease, not to mention many other games with that concept. They should be confined to these quote unquote 'newb servers' until they get rank, when you know damn well that they are way past that point?
