change account name, keep stats?

Hopefully it comes in the next patch, which is coming out later this month(correct me if im wrong.).


I heard the gamespy "name change" only changes your name offline, for stat sigs and such.

I have tried this approach to changing your name with a second account of mine. You can change it in gamespy, but when you log in to the game and join a server, your old nick will still show up. It doesn't work. End of story.
