    Battlefield 2 VoIP?

Ok guys i currently dont have a mic and i was wondering two thing.

1.) Is it worth buying a mic for the game, does it really enhance the experiance?

2.) If so any suggestions which mike i should get, what is a perticulary good mic that you use?

You can rarely find people using voip, but when you do, it is quite the experience. I would buy one anyway, a mic only is good enough unless you want a headset.

        thx guys.

I just found this in the back of the battlefield 2 manual. It’s a headset that Logitech have basically made for battlefield 2.

There is whole load of battlefield 2 stuff they are promoting.

Sometimes I wish there was more people using mics because it makes working as a squad so much more easier.

1.) Yes, however rare, using a mic in a squad is definately an advantage and quite fun.

2.) I use the one I got with the game. It probably sucks, but people can hear me and I can hear them.

Everyone who thinks barely anyone uses mics, that may be true in most servers, but not the Tactical Gamers servers. Most of the people who play in those have a mic. Many of the times I join everyone in my squad has a mic.

This server has a server-side mos that makes it so squad leaders and commanders cannot be auto-switched. You are kicked if you do not join a squad, which works out great cause everyone that goes to that server wants to anyway. Its the best Oublic ive ever played on.

Anyway, I think a mic is a good idea. Adds alot to the teamplay.

I would say get one. Sennheiser makes excellent headsets, I have a PC150. If you want to go for something a bit cheaper, go with a Plantronics; however you will sacrifice some quality, especially in the mic department, but Plantronics are still some of the better headsets available.

That thing is as uncomfortable as hell. Nice sound quality, but gaming with that thing on can be discomforting.

I have a Plantronics, but Sennheiser is a bit better quality in the mic, comfort, and sound, but all are more expensive.

I think the Voip really enhances the experience. For me i was mostly using TS to talk to friends while playing... but when i switched to using Voip, everything felt more intense and real. It was like the voip was being used for teamwork purposes...and TS for anything else. We used teamwork alot more than just random talking... so it made the game that much better... just my opinion if you havent started using the Voip yet.

OMG, why wouldn't you get a mic??? Wouldn't you like to know if your about to get stabbed with a knife from behind??? I mean come on. Go down to the store and buy one for like $20. The game cost $50 so you should have the money. I can't believe how many people don't have a mic. Playing in a squad with mics just ups the realism, so its a no brainer.
