    Hallway didn't freak me out...
What freaked me out was when you have to go down the ladder and the little girl pops up as you turn. THAT freaked me out. And her laughter...eek.

I think so. Although I might wait for it to come down in price or go on sale.

I liked the particle weapon. One shot, one disintegration I love the way the skeletons are left behind...

Agreed on the weapons sounding rather "quiet". Some of these things are mongo weapons and one would expect mongo sound.

Graphics are friggin awesome and they do break new ground IMHO. I love the way that the world is not static like in Doom 3. Much more like Half-Life 2 and it rocks. The lighting needs to be worked on in SOME areas a bit more IMHO. Other than that...awesome game.

well my review, worst game ever... well, actually worst video card ever :P with my almighty FX5200 128mb i can run BF2 on medium and some things on low, and i get between 22 and 30FPS and IMO its quite fast, i dont get FPS lost or slowdowns at all, but in F.E.A.R damn!!! everything and i mean EVERYTHING on Minimun and the game its amazingly slooooooooooow!!!! Specially in a firefight or whenever i turn the flashlight damn, well, with gods will i'll be able to play FEAR this monday :P (i hope so).... but in the meantime, no FEAR for FX5200's

              Played it through another time...
OK, the hallway scene reminded me of the tripping that Max Payne went through during his little rampage. Anybody else think that it might have been ripped off from that game...?
Slo-Mo...awesome feature but again, nothing really "new" since Max Payne brought that to the fps genre.

I STILL love the particle gun. That baby is the sh!t!

Yes, its a very demanding game. With my rig I was able to max out everything except the sound since it was locking up my rig. I'm using the onboard sound on my Shuttle XPC.
                Rig stats:
                Shuttle XPC system
                Athlon64 3000
                1GB Corsair XMS (2x512MB)
                PNY 6800GT 256MB DDR3 (latest drivers)

i dont want to sound stupid, but... Max Payne its not an FPS game...

and the first time i saw the slow-mo in a FPS was in a mod for HL2 (Substance)

Yeah...ill resume later. Ive only gone down that underground tunnel/hallway thing so far....man my flashlight simultaniously turned off as wen the thing seemed to come down the hallway at you, and when the ting ran across it....I think I used a wee too much ammo for not hitting anything.

Not sure why. Drivers? Maybe it just happens to not work well with one of those things.

                    I have:
                    2.66GHz P4
                    1.5 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB

runs perfect with great FPS on highest graphics.

Well, its not technically an "fps" but that's where the slo-mo was first used.

Make sure you have sp2 thats whats holding my system performance back in bf2 and in this game.

After the third or fourth server I finally got the demo to download. Amazing game. The lighting, weapons, sounds, graphics, gameplay.. it's all extremely well done. That brings me to the question, why is the demo so short?
