Tips on getting the Air Defense Ribbon

I have tried for a while and that seems to be one of the ribbons that give me the most trouble. It just seems that the Stingers never work in my favor. I always wait for the pilots to dispense their flares first and I wait for a good angle to take the shot but I can never get 11 kills. The most I got was 7 and that was when I played in a 64 man server. So any tips for people out there who have it on an easy way to get it? Thanks for the help.

Don't know if this will work, but maybe try the Anti-Air tank thing. That way you have bullets and missles.

Your best bet would be to play on dalian plant 64 players, and just set on the stinger in the botton right base, worked for me!

Play Dragon Valley (32 player I think or the version with no planes). Wait for choppers to come and take 'em down.

Find a Mashtuur city, get on the MEC team and sit in that stinger nest. Don't point toward town until you see your team spot out a BH at your northwest base. Now point there, wait till they drop their flares and let loose. It might take a while, but each takedown is 6 kills.

I got mine at Dragon Valley

sit on the stingers at the half way point base and try to pick off choppers as they hover to take out the flags - also try and shoot at the choppers as they come directly away or towards you, the stingers have a better chance of hitting

1. shoot planes as they go away from you. you cannot hit them reliably coming towards/going across your view.

2. shoot 1 rocket to make the pilot flare. shoot the other after you have lock back. noob pilots may flare without any shots being fired because the lock alarm scares them.

3. practise. you will get better.

Location: Air defence on the carrier, its machine gun itself can rip anything into pieces in seconds, and it has 2 stingers aswell...got my air defence ribbon in ~10 mins....just make sure the enemy fly to the carrier...if not, simply find another server :)

for me it was very easy to get i get the ribbon with opration clean sweap MOC first spawn 32 player server on the igla a black hawk try to get spawn full with USMC people he had just his flares when i lock him schoot him in de back and i schot down 2 black hawk and a cobra all full within 2 min

Uhh you don't have to shoot planes or helis down for the kills to count. Just hop in one of the mobile aa vehicles and kill a bunch of people and drive around for awhile.

· 3 Minutes in Stinger
· 11 Kills in Stinger (doesn't matter if its a heli or just some guys running around)

I tried and tried to get this. Then played 64 player Operation Clean Sweep.....Used the AA at the northern most MEC base, , if killed, respawn at the center MEC base, the one overlooking the water and the other base in front of it. The AA is up on the hill, remember to let the chopper/plane flare first then pop em. Look for smoking helis/planes, usually takes more than two rounds to down a full health vehicle....

I got it playing MEC on Gulf of Oman. I just stayed in a stinger and waited for choppers to come from the carrier. As you can guess, they never learned to avoid me. :)

i just got in the linebacker on kubra and kept mowin down mec troopers on the far north base . you dont need to shoot down planes or choppers to get it
