It would be interesting to see what the overall gun unlock statistics looked like, I imagine there will be a lot of "PKM" carying support guys handing out ammo like crazy soon enough, I think a lot of people unlocked the M95 and the L85A1 first, I pick up a lot of those when switching kits.

I can't stand how the G36c muzzle flash looks like it's coming out of the sides of the gun when in sight mode:

Love the PKM....was my first unlock...people hear the PKM and just start running like crazy....not bad....thinking about unlocking the Special forces weapon next

The G3 and the PKM do the same amount of damage.

The G3 has far less ammo(20 per clip) but MUCH better accuracy. The PKM has tons of ammo, and is great for suppressive, but pretty subpar for long range suppression.

For example, the guy you're shooting at 200m away has a pkm and you have the G3. In the time it takes for him to get two to three bullets into you, you could have put 6-8 in him.

Different situations call for different roles though. The PKM is great for maps like Karkland, and great for laying down denying an alley or road free movement. The G3 is great to kill that guy at medium to long range before he kills you.

200m in this game? wow, that's like using a sniper rifle. For this game 200m is a lot.

I've been a big fan of it ever since I unlocked as a first unlock. I just love the chugg..chugg..chugg noise when you open up on a squad and the way it makes people think twice before they come at you.

Caught a USMC squad of six in crossfire with it last night on Mashtuur City 32 player map. They never stood a chance.

It's ugly and primitive compared to other weapons around but there's just something special about it.

PKM owns. i shot the driver out of a vodnik today with it. amazing firepower, and very accurate at 50-100m.

I have tested the PKM and the G3 out offline. But i dont know how they handle online. I kinda want to unlock both, but i guess 15,000 more points isnt too much, i should have it in around a month. Both of the guns are really great, especially the sounds they make. But i cant seem to choose. I may go for the G3 as it should have been my first unlock but i went for that damn L85A1 which pretty much sucks. But i guess they captured the feel right, as its amazing for target shooting but sucks as an assault rifle.

When the day comes im going to have a long hard think about which to unlock. I seem to be more for the G3 as im going to need to be a class that gets points in the later ranks and a new gun will make me want to play as that kit more.

pkm isnt that great its only good for those very rare times you see a full noob squad in a tight alley

yea its OKAY....all the unlocks suck, except the G36C. rest blow horribly. the g36 is the only weapon that can be used effectively at all ranges.

I've been very lucky with my unlocks so far. The PKM was my first unlock and the L85 my second. I absolutely LOVE them both, and consider both to be definite upgrades as opposed to alternatives. I hated the L85 for the first day or two that I used it, but now that I've gotten used to it, and 'learned' the gun, I don't know how I ever played medic without it. The PKM was kind of the same way, but not to as much of a degree as the L85.

Anyway, I love the fact that with my PKM, I can actually, on my own, stop BHs from taking flags. Of course, I can't kill them, but if I see them coming into a flag, before they see me, (not hard since you can hear them coming long before they can see you) since they maneuver so slowly, I can usually stay out of the traverse of the mini-guns. When they try to cap, I sit underneath and lay into them with constant bursts from the PKM. 9 times out of 10, the pilot will abandon the flag and move on to another where they're not taking flak. And, even though I don't get points for it, I still know that I've defended that flag for the team.

I've also taken out many a smoking attack chopper trying to make it's way back to the pad with my trusty PKM.

The other thing that most people don't realize is that the PKM actually shoots THROUGH people. On a couple of occasions, in a tight alley in Karkand, I've manged to take out two or even three infantry standing in a line, just by shooting at the first guy with a burst or two from the PKM. I'm not sure if other guns do this, but I've never seen it happen with anything but my PKM.
