It should be 0 if you forgive. Forgiving is like saying, "Hey, it's cool, I'll just pretend it didn't happen". You shouldn't be penalized for it. This along with defaulting to forgive would be nice touches to the TK system.
How about 0 global but -2 to TW for forgive(since you burned a ticket potentially with your TK)? That seems reasonable.
Punish should be scaled back to -2 or -3 I think. It's just too much as is.

OMG i hate the teamkill system, some fags that stand in front of airplanes, running before your vehicle, friendly vehicles running over your mines. It sucks, I never ever punished someone for teamkilling me, but I'm not forgiving once

hehe, ahhh reading things like this cheer me up at "work"

imo, it should be -1 or -2 for a TK unless you are forgiven.

still, a lot of people blame EA directly for the problems in the game, but i feel that things like this wouldnt be soo much of a problem if players pay more attention to the game around them.
PLEASE DONT GIVE US A HARD TIME OVER IT

anyway, more funny stuff from glasseye please

        back to work...

Alot of times i've been teamkilled when it was actually my fault.
And all i can do then is say i'm sorry and forgive the TK.

I would love it if i choose to forgive i could reduce the punishment by half.

But sometimes i am teamkilled by guys in airplanes that bomb a flag with 50% friendlies in it and he miss and the flag is lost.

Then i wish i could just give him the INSTABAN and reduce him to PRIVATE.

It's alot of mixed feelings but i think people should be able to forgive it completely if it's their fault. I have ran over one or two mines in the past as well and then i feel really sad over the fact that the guy that placed them will be punished by reduced points. He tried to defend the base, not place the mines and wait for a ignorant driver to run over it and LAUGH...

            -4 or -8 points .. ö_Ö omg who cares ?
Well i forgive whatever comes, because **** can happen.
exmp: Chopper got killd by enemy jet - and this chopper crash on you , yap it will be counted as TK . Now many guys punish . I dont know why . First times i tried to explain and become angry about this. Nowadays i kill Teammates who shoot me first , because then they know it was a friendly. If they punish ... as i said i dont care. (and if you ask me why i kill them? If a medic hurt me and running away without laying down a medbox.. sry more noobish isnt possible)
Its impossible to stop the Stupidness of Punishers.
This is my personal opinion. They got the power to say Yes (-8) or No (-4) . The most dont think about , was an anccident or did he really TKed me for fun? They just punish and think " Suck this Bastard , hahahaha "

99% of my teamkills have been people getting run over. It's happened to me too. You just out of a vehicle and all of a sudden you're under the tires. I definately think that if you forgive there should be no negative points, or maybe 1 or 2 at the most.

Vehicle TK's suck. I hate when I'm driving an M1A2 and I already have a top gunner and someone hops in front trying to get in and I swear I'm at a full stop, but then I move forward at about 0.3 mph and get a TK(and usually a :censored: punish). Lame.

I think tk should allways get points taken away, just less than is now the case.
maybe -2 points if you get forgiven, because there are still rules in the game that state you can't just go off kill other people.
If forgive means tk cost no point , it would mean the victim would get 1 death writen to him, and killer would get of completely free, this would be completely unfair, and i would allways punish because i'dd have to.

another scenario i was thinking of, how about when you get team killed , you don't lose a life on your stats.
                  You just have to respawn.
But teamkilling would cost more points standard than it does now, at least it cost more points than a revive would give (countering TK kill/heal expoits).
That way punish could be taken out completely, since when you get killed you don't lose a life, theres not much to punish for.
or the punish could become like in counterstrike, you could "slay" someone for tking you, but not take away points, just 1 life and make him respawn.

anyway, that's just what i think about it

TK, shouldn't be allowed or should be an option to join a server where TK'ing is turned ON or OFF. People punish for no reason...I get killed, If I think it's an accident then I forgive...e.g. I was a bomber, locked onto a target...dropped the bombs and BOOM! I only blew up one of my guys in the process, a Spec. Ops trying to C4 the armour...how was I suppose to know.
I'm just glad that he saw it as an accident and forgave me...shame I got minus points though

Personally, I hate the punishment system (or, at least any bugs that prevent it from working correctly). I play sniper a lot, and so I use my claymores around flags, bridges, and sometimes on main roads. I've blown up a few tanks/APCs/jeeps/etc. this way, as I'm sure most snipers have.

And still, with big ol' red skull & crossbones and text below them, people still run into them and then punish me. And most of the time, there isn't a hint of thought there...I see the "You [blew the hell out of] xx_notpaYinGaTtentiOn_xx" message and immediately after I see "You were punished for teamkill". Groovy. I try to help out, and I get punished.

If someone teamkills me...I do a couple things before I hit pageup or pagedown. First I look at how I died. If it was a sniper hit, an airstrike or rocket hit where baddies were also around...I almost always decline punishment -- **** happens, right? If I got ran over or walked into C4 or a mine, well, most likely it was my own dumb@$$ fault, so I'd rather punish myself. If it was another type of kill, I will hit TAB and see how this person is ranking. Do they already have a negative number and seem to be doing it on purpose or are really careless? Or maybe they have a decent amount of points, and it truly was an accident?

This long rant basically is me venting to everyone to just at least think a couple of seconds about the situation before you punish. It may actually be a teamwork-type of thing to do...and if you truly have a TK'er on the server...then look for an admin, and then if one isn't around, then by all means, punish away.

For anyone still reading -- thanks for taking the time!

One of the things ive come to realise, is that no matter what happens, someone, somewhere is gunna be pissed off about it and will start a god damn discussion on it.

If you take away the TK and or tk punish someone will start a 'where has TK gone?' thread and then say about the games 'oooo non realistic now' (WHICH may i remind you it is NOT supposed to be, it is a GAME that is BASED somewhat on real life things)

If you make it -1 for punish and 0 for forgive (my suggestion i know) - someone will start the 'tk not good enough' thread, and then people will moan about how people that TK are not getting enough punishment

If you leave it as it is - someone will restart this thread or one of the thousand others on this topic and post sob stories about how bad they are at paying attention to the world around them.

                          Thats dumb.

I had the worst score on the list because some ******* rammed me with an apc and somehow i got loads of team kills. and had like -13, i manage to recover but just barely, i had to kill like crazy.

But i never punish anyone unless i dont know what happened and they didnt say sorry.

i mean if you still get minus points whats the point in that. That needs to be fixed.

you wouldnt have to punish them. there is no law saying you have to get revenge on ppl. what if its your fault or one of those frequent logic farts the game spits out?

example: if you run in front of my jeep, should i get punished for that? what if i shoot down a jet and the wrekage hits you, should i get punished for that?
