just a question. Do you gain more points by throwing packs of ammo and med kits OR do by running around holding the packs to heal/add ammo for them? I read somewhere that you get more if you heal/fill rather then throwing packs to the ground.

My best med experience - jump starting about 10 dead players. Worst experience - getting mindlessly slaughtered for healing players in a middle of intense firefight......we meds really try....

There are bad commanders alright, but keep in mind that you must wait for supply drops. Commander must have been dropped supplies elsewhere and it takes some time to drop again. I always say or write: "In a minute" or "I'll do it soon" to every squad leader that requests something I cannot provide at the time.
Believe me, there are so few who request anything on ranked servers... it's very hard to predict what people want when they ignore commanders completely. All they do is they try to mutiny vote you out.

As a squad leader/member It pisses me off also when I get no reply at all from commander/squad leader.

For a start the support gun is usually sh*te.

Last night on strike at karkand, running round like an eejit trying to re-supply people I discovered that you can't hit jack with the support weapons.

I know I know. I WAS prone, I DID do 3-4 round bursts, but if I wanted to kill someone I used my pistol.....my pistol! If you are in a squad it is hard to keep up as you have to prone EVERY time you want to fire, EVERY time. You also don't seem to sprint as fast.

If the enemy can see you through the fog, 9 times out of ten your dead. Just firing blind into the fog (UAV shows troops, aim in general direction) doesn't register a single hit.

The unfortunate thing about the AT guys requesting ammo is they are usually by definition somewhere around hostile armour, which is a bad place to be as a slow moving support guy. If the enemy jumps out of the tank/apc etc it is very rare for the support gun to kill em. By the time you,ve hit the prone key you've usually been hit with at least 2 shots.

With the m16 et'al you can at least fire reasonably accurately whilst standing.

Support is a very frustrating class. Not as bad as engy though

Healing is what I use the most, but you get points throwing bags around too. Do them both and you're set.

Heh, same here when I'm playing medic... I'm the one that rushes head first into firefights to revive squad members and almost certainly gets killed :p

Sometimes it's fun, though. I've had some good laughs when enemy runs towards me trying to knife me down when I'm trying to revive a teammate... Bzzzzt and enemy is dead

Try using your pistol, It's far more accurate and even effective on short range.

Problem is , there a lot players who didnt drop the packs... :hmm:

as support, there's nothing worse than a teammate yelling "I need ammo" and you look at the spin map and notice they're close to you so you run in their direction and instead of them waiting for you to come, they go rambo towards the enemy and get themselves killed (and possibly you too for trying to help them)!

listen, people... if you yell "I need ammo" or "Medic to this position, over" wait for a few seconds if someone responds "Okay" (or something like that) before you go decide nobody's coming and you're going to save the world with your trusty knife or 2% health! sure, the "OK" response might be for something else but wait at LEAST a minute after yelling you need something! i swear, players are smarter these days. they no longer steal vehicles if you're repairing them... the give you ammo or medpacks... there's a lot more respect now so you can expect help when you call for it.

yell for help and sit on your butt.

It's hard to think of a situation where the machine gun is better than the pistol

you don't get them because you don't give time for the medic or ammo guy to get to you!

what, you think nobody's coming to get their easy one point that could help them unlock their next uber-weapon that they will then complain about?

By now you've probably (read) me freaking out in the game a few times if you've played on servers I've been in screaming like a ***** for ammo and health, so I figured this might be good place to say so.

Guess what? I use a lot of ammo as AT. I pretty much shoot at everything that moves with the rockets, and only close range I will use the MP5 (cause it sucks so bad).

So here's a tip that will help you gain teamwork points faster.

Drop ammo packs and drop health packs. Yeah, yeah, you know this already, so why aren't you doing it?

When a buddy and I team up, he always goes Support and keeps me ammoed all the time, and he gets MEGA team points, placing him in top 5 scores and he gets top support score each round.

So whore it up. Don't be ashamed. I'd rather listen to "Ammo here! Ammo here!" and be taking out everything from snipers to Blackhawks all round, rather than *****ing like a schoolgirl for ammo that just isn't there.

Then I start getting mad and teamkilling. (no just kidding, I dont do that)
I always try to follow the AT guys as Support. However most don't wait for you. They run to buggy/apc/helo and just razz off. 2 mins later "need ammo" "need ammo", shame there is no response of "well come and pick me up and f*kin get some some then"

Depends on the map, if you're playing Strike on Karkand...well, the Engy shotties are extremely deadly.

                          Or I must just be getting incredibly lucky and killing dozens of people that are almost dead. o_o;

I'll say this much about the support class. THE GUNS BLOW! I have just as much chance whipping out my pistol and sniping them as I do killling them with my machine gun. It's the biggest POS in the game. I do understand this about the support guns. You have to be prone to hit anything (which is kinda rediculous, but can understand). But which really pisses me off. Is that when you're prone, you still can't kill anything. I just wish they were just a little more accurate then I would use the suport class a heck of alot more. I just hate it when I see some guy in the distance so I think "OK I'll just shoot in double taps or whatever." But the first bullet that comes out of the gun isn't even strait on. If the first shot out of the gun was strait on somebody then you could atleast do short little bursts with the thing but it doesn't. DICE screwed up the support class. So instead of complaining to the gaming community about not getting ammo, try complaining to DICE about why the support class isn't worth it.

Also, everybody has bad luck dude. I can't imagine how many times I just spawn and die half a second after I spawn. I don't go on forums and complain to people and make a thread "WHY DON"T YOU TRY DEFENDING YOUR SPAWN SO YOUR TEAMMATES DONT DIE WHEN THEY SPAWN". The realy problems lies in yourself not everybody around you. Let's see you be support class and do half as good as you do being anythign else.

are there any down sides to just tossing packs around (ammo/health)? like, for example the enemy can use them I imagine, right?

do you lose points as a support/medic if the enemy grabs your packs?

Otherwise, nothwithstanding the above, I am very consious of my surroundings as a support dude. I am always re-supplying when asked, and many times w/out being asked.

I lament what's been done to support class.

When I used to play DC, machine guns were my fav weapons. I was nearly always in the top 10 on my side (when I assaulted), and I was a great asset to my clan.

Now, with the weapon being as inaccurate as it is, the only way to make points on support is to resupply. And that's a pain in the kiester, because of the idiots who call for resupply, and run off toward the enemy.

In AAO, I'd yell at people to move to the rear if they called for a med, and it would work. People would move out of the hot zone, get healed, and get back in the war.

Too bad people in this game can't learn that.

                                J.
