Well, I got most of my awards on purpose...or by surprise...like the distinguished service ribbon...I was just playing and didn't know how I got it...or some other ribbons...Combat Action...Valorious Unit...Parachuting was kind of on purpose, cuz my friend told me about it...

I only really tried for the pistol, knife, and explosive ord. badge. Those ones you actually need a plan to be successful IMO.Comment

Yes I've got all mine too by surprise... because I like getting them based on how I play.. hunting them doesn't mean anything... I'm not gonna waste my G3's ammo by getting killed cause I'm running around like a fool trying to shoot people with a pistol.. I only use pistol when I run out of ammo or I see a VERY easy kill and I don't want to waste my main ammo... and honestly I'll sometimes use the silenced pistol specifically because its fun.
I don't have the airborne one either, because I'm not gonna fly up in outerspace and jump out and waste a plane for a ribbon, if I get it for bailing out high up for some reason other than getting a ribbon, then I'll get it... but until then...Comment

i got my repair badge from a really helpful guy on my team who blew up all our commander assets. bad for our commander, but good for me.Comment

Most came as complete suprises -- especially the last two. I was playing Karkand and mounted the fixed SAW near the US artillery pieces. There was a squad of MECs who really wanted to blow the arty bad and just kept coming and coming and I just kept mowing them down. Suddenly up pops the Ground Defense Ribbon and a few seconds later the Ground Defense Badge. They did wonders for my stats too.
