That is nothing guys. I live in rural Paola, Kansas, and I pay $89.99 a month for 1800kbs/600upload, and thanks to Motorola's slow asses on developing firmware to handle that. I am only getting 600kbs/200upload, and my ISP [Midwest Connections] never calls me back, or gives any kind of updates.. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. SBC is laying Fiber Optic Cable in my front yard as we speak, and will be taking subscriptions Aug 1! So I have sweet, sweet, 30mbps to look forward to!

Yeah, that sounds cool. I have cable now at about 4.7 last I checked, and it's quite adequate, but 30 would be teh sechs.

i get 3meg cable for 60$, well, not now since im in a dorm, so its free (or 30k if u count UW-madison's tuition...) in asia, specifically korea, its literally less than 50$ for your personal home t1 line, and 56k there is almost as fast as dsl here. its because in the U.S. its taking forever to upgrade the communication lines with the new fiberwire stuff cause we had telephones since forever, so we gotta take down the old copper first. in countries like korea, etc, they didnt really get going economy wise til recently, so theres nothing TO take down, the can put up new advanced stuff right away.

I'm really beginning to feel helpless as to the situation here in the U.S. with our broadband conections. I mean, the companies here are charging through the @$$ for stuff that's basic in other countries/continents. Even for dial-up, it was $20 per month for 230 hours.
