There are two versions PC-DVD and PC-CD,

                  I have the CD version.

                      p.s. there is a CD-ROM and DVD-ROM version of the game, genius's.

I almost feel guilty that i am going to use it with a CRT monitor
You really need at least a gig, I am going to 2 gig. I have a 19 inch Samsung 8ms LCD and a 19in Viewsonic G60FB CRT, the CRT is much better for gaming, so don't feel guilty.
