In RL I can hit a head size target from 300m almost 100% of the time with my bolt action sniper rifle. This is shooting prone of course. In army sniper training we practiced with many different rifles and 300m head shots were no problem even with the SVD.
In game I find it difficult to do headshots constantly at any distances. I do get them but not as much as I would like. When hit in the head with SVD/M95/M24 it usually kills with 1 shot.
The idea with a sniper is you want to get close enough so you can clearly see their head with your scope. Most people like to get up on top of a crane in the middle of a map and snipe at two flags all the way across the map where they can barely see any target. Instead, try to get up on a hill overlooking a flag, and you'll be close enough to see their head. Just wait for them to stand still, and fire. When you get good, the target only needs to stand still for only one second for you to get a one-shot kill.

Me too, it's a lot easier to hit the toro then the head, unless it's a guarenteed HS, which it almost never is.
There are times, like then you're hiding in a bush and they neutralize a flag. They get all comfy thinking nobody will spawn and then... *BOOM* HEADSHOT!! Also, Stingers and Iglas keep your head in the same spot, no matter what irection you're turned, so line up your shots on those!
The M95 is great for aircraft whores, just find a nice, consealed spot and lett 'er rip!
remember that this guy nameed Xagashi made a movie about the M95 bullet drop and now i average a score of 30-35 with the M95..and i relized my problem was that i was aiming directly at someone head and missing, so now i give room for drop and BOOM HEADSHOT!!!!
Alot of people hate that they chose to unlock the M85 first, I dont, I love getting behind the enemies lines and setting up near the cobra or havoc and waiting for a pilot to get in and pop...the gunner just sits there like "take off already" for some reason its much easier to get a bullet through the pilots canopy than the gunners.
ive got my veterans sniper badge and i find it easy to get a one shot kill, ive done that even wen my target is moving...heres some tips:
1= there no wind and no bullet travel time so wen u c a victim shoot away and almost certainly hell b dead (if its on targert)
2= let ur target move into ur sights, dont follow the person cuz ull almost defaintly miss, just judge were hell b wen u shoot
3= hide in a well concealed spot but has a great field of view
4= hide ur claymores carefully and knowone wud expect
5= if u c a foe prone and near by go for a knife kill (make sure its clear to attack) then hide in a spot very close to the person u just killed and then knife the medic who cums to revive there fallen teamate
6= if ur on a map with planes and heli and u've unlocked the m95 go for the pilots and co-pliots, but u gotta b quick cuz there'll only be stationary for about 10-15 seconds, which is enough to get both.
7= ive only done this once but ive destroyed a attack heli with my m95.
i may have a reason for this and here it is, it might of been damaged quite abit cuz ive did this experiment on a car wen it was nearly on fire, i shot at it from about 50 yards away and it blew up and luckily a enemy support gunner who had found me and was firing away :P so back to the tip, if a vehicle (not a tank) is badly damaged shoot it with ur m95 and hopefully it blow up
