erm we are paying customers, we deserve all the support we need with the game this is less than we should expect EA, fair enough they have put effort into fixing a few bugs that have been discovered. for me personally im laughing at EA they deserve this after the torture of waiting and taunting us for the demo and not giving out a release date (i dont support the hax0rz at all btw kaithxbai

Frankly, these people had the power to do whatever they wanted. If they truly wanted to create total chaos and simply mess things up then they *would* have deleted all accounts or dome something MUCH more damaging. Instead they chose to do something that is 1)Not damaging in the least, and 2)Very easily fixable. On top of that they posted in multiple 'official' bf2 forums that this had been done notifying everyone (including EA/DICE) that this problem exists and needs to be taken care of.

Because of the actions that they have taken this serious hole will be fixed and more devious people will not be able to 'delete all accounts or erase them.'

We aren't forced to. The biggest point is that you can imagine how many ****ing emails EA gets about this game? OOOO I DONT LIKE THIS WEAPON REMOVE IT OOOO I DONT LIKE RANKED SERVERS OOOO I WANNA BE ABLE TO HOST A PRIVATE RANKD SERVER OOOOO I WANT THIS OOO I WANT THAT. Of course its likely that an email would be missed which is why its TOTALLY unpractical to assume they ignored your messages. Its just an excuse to get personal attention.

Until you guys have seen the emails he claims to have sent, and the addresses he sent them to, then you are just assuming he tried to get into contact with EA pretty avidly. Not safe to assume.

And you're assuming that he's lying... You're right - it's not safe to assume. I'm not cynical enough to discredit every "I contacted EA" post that comes along, nor am I gullible enough to believe all of them. I think, in this situation, it's safe to say that multiple people emailed EA about this issue, maybe some out of spite that their ID didn't fall into the range of those unlocked. As far as missing emails? The fact that it probably isn't the normal STAT-PADDERS R SUK email would be more than enough incentive to read it. But you know what? The people at EA are still human, and humans make mistakes. I can appreciate that, but what I don't appreciate is behavior like the one Die demonstrated which is basically "I didn't recieve an email, so therefore it's not an issue."

I don't care if you're trying to call ApexAZ out or trying to get people to switch sides or whatever -- that's not the point. The point is, that these sort of issues shouldn't be happening. Yeah, it's kind of cool, but it opens up questions as to what exactly can be manipulated.

Stats are not going to be entirely reset. Instead your account will simply have the weapons locked again and you will get new unlocks according to your present rank.

In the future, if you really are concerned about "exposing security holes" to EA (which I sincerely doubt) rather than grandstanding, please e-mail me personally since it appears that you don't have the correct contact info. I will PM you the address.

All of the changes made will be rolled back in the next couple hours. Users may have to rechoose any unlocks they would have legitimately made in the last day or so as a result of the roll-back, but no stats should be lost.
