They should just filter the inbound connections then. Unless they are teh lame.

Anyone with half a brain knows this - why would someone with a high ping (who uses LESS bandwidth) lag everyone else? Well, they dont - but they also reduce the emersion of the game by hopping around - and besides which, the NZ community is small and close knit - we'd rather play the game with each other than some lagging yankee (who, for some reason, always insist on turning the mic volume to high, and putting the mic in their mouth when they speak, to acheive maximum annoyance.).Originally posted by =[BFT]= Sr7Lol this argument is made every time in every game.... how could someone with a high ping possibly lag the whole server? They may move around weird because of the lag and that may be sufficient reason to kick em but they cant lag everyone else...

Been kicked from a battlefield.no #? server recently, reason: only nordic players allowed. My ping was around 70 and the server occupation was like 50/64. I felt a bit like "mmmk, bleh". I'm from france btw.
...is one of the most stupid thing I read on this forum (and I let you imagine how much I've read, lol). Wake up dude, it's the internet, who cares where you're from?Originally posted by VentureWhy would you want to play on our servers? your country has some dont they ?Comment

Lag isnt just your screen hanging up for a second or making you move around funny..
If your machine is having issues /delays in sending the packets of data through to the server, it causes the server to wait for you, screwing up things for everyone else.
I have a 1.5MB connection, i play on servers at my own ISP - Internode, so in theroy i shouldnt really have too many lag issues, but i can get massive lag. I might have a ping time of 30 and someone else might have 800+ (which i saw the other night) and this was just killing the server..Comment

Honestly, if you have nothing constructive to add, then just say nothing. You clearly have no idea how server technology works. A server doesn't 'wait' for the slowest player.Originally posted by AusVirtualPaulWhat are you going on about dude???

A player with a high ping uses LESS bandwidth than a player with a low ping, therefore they cannot cause lag for other players on the server, only for themselves.Comment

It is not that simple since 1.01 came out the browser tends to show unrealistic ping responses. I am in the UK and the browser will show me UK servers and US servers both in the 100 ping region. When in game on a UK server though it shows as a real ping of about 20 where as in game on a US server it shows as a real ping of 100+Originally posted by BugiltI wish people would take the time to check out thier pings. It seems alot of players just join what ever server with out checking the ping. I can understand how you don't want us over there woop some arse, it's cool.
Basically the browser shows ping times that don't match the ping you will get when you join the server. Really I have to go on the server name to tell where the server is as ping is inaccurate.Comment

i hate when people host servers with dial up or some horribal slow connection. its like playing in a flash film, and you somehow manage to get killed through all the lag too. anyone with 1000+ ping should stick to counter-strike, noone needs to play battlefield 2 in a charlie chaplin filmComment

I said since 1.01 which means it still happens in 1.02. It was fine in 1.0 as I used to see lots of sub 100 servers but ever since the patching started all servers are now displayed with pings over 100 which makes it a right pain to figure out where your local servers are if they don't give it away in their server name e.g. .co.ukComment
