I dunno, maybe it was less then $250... I can't remember
IDK my PSU watts, either. It's a HP Pavilion 364n with 256 MB RAM and a 9800Pro added too it. It sucks, but it gets the job done...

    2.4GHz P4
    512 MB RAM
    9800 Pro
    Integrated Sound
    IDK MoBo

well for one thing, you need a gig of ram to run this game relatively smoothly. I have the equivalent of a 3.0ghz processor, so you're ok there but it is a little lacking (as mine is). The integrated sound hurts your performance too because the processor has to do all the calculations for the sound and actually take the load of processing them too. If you had a sound card like a soundblaster audigy or something with an onboard processing unit, it would offload the bulk of the sound processing to it, leaving the processor more free to do its duty with the rest of the game. So right now you have too little ram, and your processor is a bit slow to begin with, not to mention its shouldering the onboard sound.

When you can it might be best to upgrade em all at once and just buy a generic case, as those HP cases can be a pain in the ass. you can get really good quality stuff for pretty cheap from www.newegg.com, and I suggest you read www.tomshardware.com. If you ever plan to upgrade your system, you could set a certain amount of cash you would like to spend and I could make a recommendation on a setup thats cost effective.

I already have plans in the works to build my next rig, but it'll be expensive. I'm sure I have an old sound card SOMEWHERE (And by old, I mean OLD). Right now, I'm content with my 30FPS, because, hey, atleast it runs.

          1) Never buy a 128 meg card again.

          2) Research before you buy. Radeon X800's are ~$200, high GPU clock speed and high memory speed, but the GeForce 6800GT's are getting to the same price with higher memory speed, more pipes, more bandwidth. GeForce 6800GT and Ultra = the way to go.

Screw BestBuy. I'll go to Newegg from now on. Although the x800 there is $300...

Also VRam is not everything, most people think 256mb > 128mb therfor video card with 256mb vram > vcard with 128mb vram, but today in most cases its the VCore thats important, 6800 vcore with 256mb of vram beats a geforce2 with 1g of vram if possible.
I get 50-70 fps @ 1024x768, high overall settings(2 things on medium), and 2X AA with my 6600 GT..

-edit- Oh, and on topic, check out the refurb section of newegg. They have some really good deals.

Not very good, if you cant afford a x800xl or a 6800gt, id settle for a 6600gt. The x800pro is kinda rip since the x800xl is a 16 pipe card and the pro is only 12 for same money or slightly more.
