What am I doing wrong?

I'm new to modding and any time I try to implement these changes so that I can play single-player with blood, the game won't start. At the point where the EA "Challenge Everything" logo would ordinarily appear, I'm actually sent right back to the desktop.

Evidently, I'm doing something wrong, so ... what have I missed? Something crucial, it would seem.
