The texture effects are located in ...\mods\bf2\Objects_server.zip\Effects\impacts\bh its\small\...
The 3 files are:
e_bhit_s_sold_bodyarmor.tweak
e_bhit_s_sold_head.tweak
e_bhit_s_sold_limb.tweak
The line in each file to replace is:
ObjectTemplate.textureName objects\effects\textures\animated\Anim_smoke2
Replace "Anim_smoke2" with "anim_blood" which is found in:
...\mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip\Effects\Textures\b lood\...
so the line wyou edit will look like this:
objects\effects\textures\blood\anim_blood
I personally only use it in the head and limb file... body armor doesn't bleed right? :P
(I use WinRAR so this is terribly easy - I dunno about WinZIP)
Extract the files you wish to edit... edit in your favorite text editor.
Add the files back into the .zip file (I don't know about the level of compression support for these zips...)
Winrar's normal compression setting works perfectly. I do not know however if this will screw with PunkBuster.
I'm using it for a mod... so experiment at your own risk.
I haven't seen this elsewhere... am I the first? God I hope not... I just bumped into it.

it is possible that client and server must have same modifications... if you put it on your server... and did not have it on client... and it did not work then this may be the case. In fact I would bet it is not a server side mod then.

Actually someone pointed this out on planet battlefield... I forgot to add the anim_blood on the end of the new path...
