L85A1, the new sniper?

I wish i unlocked the l85 instead of the m95 for my first unlock.

I would use the pistol in this game for sniping before i used any of the sniper rifles.

From my experience the L85 is only 'better' in the mid-ranges, much like the M4 and even 74U can take down a sniper rather easily at close to mid range. At long ranges the snipers still win though so I wouldn't be too worried about just the L85 (M4 > L85, and a lot of folks seem to find the G36 to be extremely deadly at similar ranges).

The L85 is great at long range but is absolute balls at close ranged combat. That's balance for ya.

u know I unlocked my first wepaon thursday night. as I've played medic for a while before the unlokc I figured I would take my chances and get the l8 even tho it had gotten some bad reviews. when I tried it I of course saw the whole accuracy at long distance thing everyone has said. tho since it doesnt seem to be that powerful it takes alot of shots to get someone down. in close combat I've now noticed that when u've fired a 3-5 burst it's impossible to hit someone standing 5 feet infront of u. I mea why make a accurate weapon for distance on a kit that needs to have a gun for close combat?

hopefully I'll get used to the gun and learn how to use it in close combat. but as for now I'm only getting teamwork scores, not kills scores ;/

the real sniper n the game is the anti tank kit, the I have shot guys with the bazooka from realy realy far , even snipers trying to shoot me are getting killed with the bazooka

have you guys used the g36 that things a sniper also but no scope its amazing i love ti i wish i woulda unloacked it rather than the g3

The .50 is garbage. Until they fix it so that at a minimum a headshot is automatic death, it will continue to be garbage. Any torso or head shot should be a kill, but I'd settle for just headshots. That's not how it works currently, however, so yes, medics and even assault make better snipers.

I was up on a crane on kubra dam. It was right next to a Flag so I could easily kill any attackers and also some reason because I was pretty much over the flag it acted as I was standing next to it so I re took it with ease.

But then again I can snipe with the M16A2 on semi auto mode. As well as yesterday I was taking out snipers at a flag as an engineer with my 92fs 150 yards out.

Contrary to popular belief, the L85 is not the most accurate assault rifle in the game.

The M16 is actually the most accurate weapon in the game. The L85 and M16 deviations all are exactly the same except at the prone level. When prone the M16 is slightly more accurate than the L85.

The reason the L85 seems to be so accurate is because unlike the M16 it has a 2x Scope.

I'd just like to say to people who are whinging about the accuracies etc, that yes there are inaccuracies in the weapons, think about how crappy the game would be if everybody hit exactly where they were aiming at any range! When you use a weapon, either use it enough to get used to the way it works and use it as intended, or dont bother! I've seen people complaining because their shotty cant hit a sniper from 300 m away!

Each weapon has its own characteristics, you use it enough and you get used to it! I've played sniper lately, if the rifle cant hit at huge range, ie the m24, go for a shorter range kill!

Just common sense stuff like that works wonders for using a weapon.

Hm, you haven't met me when I had my M24 yet then if yur in my view I can hit you and thats clear across Kubra Dam sometimes. Now thats fun is taking someone out from very far away on Kubra Dam.
