Any BF2 laptop players?

What kinds of moderate laptops are capable of getting some playable framerates?

Post specs and framerates. To display framerates from the console, type "renderer.drawfps 1".

Anyoen want to take a stab pointing out where the bottlenecks are going to pop up? What settings are best to accomidate sluggish gpu's?

Anyone know of a way to get the game to run with a 64mb gfx card?

Um 64mb = not supported, must have atleast 128 or more.

i have a dell inspiron 6000 with dedicated graphics. 128 mb ati mobility x300. it can run suprisingly well on low. 512 mb ram and 1.7ghz centrino, but also there are pretty frequent lag spikes in servers with like 100 pingers. on low ping servers, i get lag spikes less often.

i dno what this means but after i type in renderer.drawfps 1 heres what shows:
50.0/21.6

first number ranges from 39-50 when im alive and 80-100 when dead. 2nd number is from 12-26 alive and like 40-50 dead.

running on medium settings i get very bad lag at the beginning of any ping servers but it gets a little better more into the game, but definitely unplayable.

I run mine very well on medium and ~on high.

Medium-->High barely any difference in quality but difference in fps so Medium does it for me :)

Oh..And a question I seem to like get lag while playing--It says network lag because im preety sure its not my laptop. I have a wireless cable--that might have something to do with it

Its like I play great but then it just says "Problem with connection"...Waits for 5seconds then back to server list. Does this once in a while.

If I set everything to low would that make a difference???!?!

All low with 4x AA and the resolution above 800x600 and i get a good 40 FPS constant, after the normal lag in the beginning of joining a server.

im running at 1900x1600 res all high but textures medium and shadows low. no AA cause it does nothing for me at that res. i get around 45~ fps, and no im not bs'ing you

I use Fraps, it tells me i'm running 50-60 FPS @ 1024 x 768 all settings medium, no AA.

PS: I didn't pay it myself, ofcourse :p , it's my worklaptop

I need an opinion. I'm picking out a new laptop for Battlefield 2 and I saw one and wrote down the name and specs here they are, could you give me a oppinion if it will run Battlefield 2 on medium or high setting.

I'm running it on a recently bought Inspiron 9300.

17" WXGA (1440 x 900 custom resolution, all LOW settings)
Getting better than 45 FPS
GeForce Go 6800 256MB
1 GB RAM
1.7Ghz Intel M
40GB 5400RPM
Custom set 1024MB pagefile memory setting

When I first got the game, my FPS was horrible. There were lag spikes. Soon found out that it was because of hard-drive lag. 1 GIG of ram was not enough. I altered the pagefile memory settings for Windows down to 1024 MB (from 1500ish) and now it only lag spikes for the first two minutes I join a game in BF2. Once it writes down the memory to the file, it never lag spikes again with constant 45 frames or better. I could probably run the game on higher settings, but low suffice. If I increase the textures, the initial lag spike time increases.

BTW the Pentium M is the best CPU for gaming. An overclocked M at about 2.2Ghz will outperform a Athlon FX55 for games. Not sure about the FX57 tho.

Wouldn't that mean an overclocked FX-55 is the best of the two for gaming then? lol Forums can be so misleading. Anyways, I believe about 3 of you, the rest are exagerating.
