A single player map is handy for getting used to commander modes basics.
When you do a map scan make sure you click each enemy and click spotted - alerts any of your team thats near them.
Send helicopters to empty enemy bases for fast capture.
be courteous to your troops, and make sure you congrat them after every win - good for morale and after all - theyre the grunts doin the hard work.
As Commander - camp beside a flag that you can easily defend and are constantly capturing, should enemy appear while your there you should have advanced warning with one of your map scans and easy take him out.
If you see a chance to help your team in combat ( eg an easy flag capure in an empty base - go for it ) - i usually borrow a heli and crash it so my team gets it back quick, you can then cover that base and monitor the war again.
See you on the battlefield :)Comment

Commanders now recieve NO team score! Defending, ressuplying, reviveing, kill assist etc. won`t give you any points. You won`t recieve points from flag neutralization, capture or defend. You won`t recieve any gold cups for kills - you will only recieve points for killing(with or without arty). And your command score(gold cups) is the average team score(1 point if your team neutralise a flag and 1 if they capture it). If you want a good commander score you need to artificially maintain the game.
P.S.
Spaming "artillery clear area!!!" could help with the squad members but not with the lone wolfs.Comment

I've got a question about the commander scoring. Lets say you are on the winning team and you are the commander. At the scorechart during the map load, it says your score down there with an "X2" around it. Is that x2 already calculated into the score or do you just multiply your score thats on that list by 2 then?Comment
