I dont get this at all... Whats the use of this post, if nobody understand how to do it??
I understand perfectly what he is doing, but I don't have a server to test it on.

The server queries bf2web.gamespy.com to find out what weapons should be unlocked for a player. He is using a hosts file trick to redirect bf2web.gamespy.com from whatever IP the DNS system has to a server of your choosing.

The initial post had admins using his webserver to return the spoofed unlocks.

He has now released the code so you can put the script on your very own webserver. The server is asking bf2web.gamespy.com/ASP/getunlocksinfo.aspx for info on what weapons should be unlocked, but since you've done a host file change and bf2web.gamespy.com is now pointing to your webserver, the spoofing script is returning that all weapons should be unlocked. You put the code in /ASP/getunlocksinfo.asp on your webserver and make it executable. You may also have to do some webserver configuration so that asp files can actually be run by perl or whatever. If you don't understand how to do that, you can still point your hosts file to his webserver...

I'm just wondering if you're missing out on anything else by not having a fully functioning bf2web... ?

          Hello,

have anyone make the Script run on there own Server ?
I have try it but it doesent works.
If i change the IP to mofino Server our Server have the free Weapon.
But if i use the local script the Weapons are not free.
If i point in the Browser to the Script it seen to be Work.

Linux? You will need to install the ASP mod into apache to get the code to work properly.

Best solution if you do not understand that or do not know what apachetoolbox is, point your hosts file at mofinos server.

Not quite true. You need to tell your web server to run .aspx scripts as CGIs. In Apache you add this line:

                      Code:
                      AddHandler cgi-script .aspx
Keep in mind this is a perl script and not .NET ASP.

Can't wait for EA to get ahold of this. Possibly a law suit, and a for sure perma banning of IPs, and stripping people of ranked servers (if anyone would be so dumb).

hell whne i get close to unnlocking i just uninstall and reinstall (saving my profile to keep controls), and then load the weapons unlock for single player. Not too hard.

Always an A$$HAT trolling around to put some bad info in the mix.

The EULA from EA does not cover this type of situation, I had it reviewed by our corp Atty. The conclusion: If you do not modify any game content, you are safe.

EA cannot tell me how to administrate my HOSTS file, nor can they effect anything I want to do with the DNS services on my machines.

I'd suggest you take your troll'n a$$ elsewhere and bump your post count there.

Also try READING the eula instead of skipping it....yeah we know it's hard without DR. Suesse attached to the title, but drag that public school education up and give it a shot.

Oh yeah, my server is STILL listed in the master browser, and I have advertized it on the planet forums also, right in front of EA.

Still have my account, and access and it's still listed in the master browser...hmmm wonder when the sky will fall chicken little.
