We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
I never play without, and i look through every squad trying to find someone with VOIP. Usually NOONES has a mic. A while ago a lot of people had one, now noone seems to.
Yes, I use VoIP and Teamspeak. Sometimes though, I have the game on speakers, I don't have my headset on so can't use voice. Other than that, voice comms is great. If more people used it the better.

Tip:
If you want to use your speakers, but still want to be able to talk, just wear your headset around you neck and ajust the mic up.
Since my surround sound speakers give me better directional cues than my headphones do, this is the only way I generally play!
Tried using voip, but it was really annoying w/ kids SHOUTING obsenities for no reason. But now i just use for my buddy's in squad on TS.
Funny...
I was expecting to encounter lots of that sort of thing when I heard that the VOIP was built in, but I haven't had it once so far.
On the other hand, last night I ended up becoming squad leader for a group of guys that were using their mics. Right off, I warned 'em that I was gonna be a yappy kind of SL and that if they didn't like that, they should let me know so I could drop out and back into the squad (turing over the SL role to someone else).
Well, no one asked me to quit. On the contrary, they took a lot of cues from me and fairly soon the com chatter started sounding like what you'd expect to hear on real combat channels.
We were damned effective and no-one wanted to stop playing, even though it was getting too damned late.
no but i have one and everytime i try to use it it never works.
I have it set up correctly in windows and it works fine. jump on BF:2 and it shuts off completely. (its checked on in options) (also in options it does not let me test. so something is not right)
I would use it if I could. Mainly because I'm flippen tired of people doing dumb stuff around me.

If the test option is greyed out, it's likely one of two things is going on:
- You've already connected to a server. Like all video/audio options, you can't test it while you are connected to a server.
- You have VOIP disabled.
Something to note is that the majority of servers out that have VOIP enabled have never bothered to set it up correctly. It takes some server side configuration to actually make the battle coms work. I've taken to finding servers where the VOIP actually works and marking them as favorites. I spend most of my time only on servers that have real functional Battle Coms.
I can't recall the IPs off the top of my head and I'm not in a position to fire up my client ATM, but I remember a couple names...
Death Row Clan Ranked Server (lame clan name, but good guys ta game with and a solid server)
GameOverdose Ranked BF2 (Don't know if this is clan run, but I keep ending up with good squads there)
I think Battle Coms are working on the Digital Anarchy Ranked server, but I'm waiting on them increasing rounds to more than one per map before bothering to go play there again.
All the Total Battle Field servers seem to have functional Coms, but they don't seem to be populated very often.
can you maybe post those ips soon wargimp. I have only experienced true teamwork once in my bf2 lifetime( i mean with total strangers) and it was awesome.
