well the option is NOT greyed out. infact when i boot up the game and I'm in the menu area's it works just fine (i know because I can hear my voice through the speakers) but as soon as I get in game it stops working. OR if i try to do a test in the options (not on a server while doing this) it shuts down. but at no time is it ever greyed out.

I use ts and the voip, but the mic on my new comp is messed up so atm I can't :/

I've started using it now because my m8 started playing BF2.Usually used for swearing at a noob commander

I'd love to, but just cant get it working, the mike is fine cause Its the same one I use for my radio station...just no one can hear me for some reason on BF2, have fiddled with all the settings..nothing works...

Well i have just discovered Voip in game and WOW! What a difference it makes to the game, its so much better especcially when you have a full squad all on mic. You can them do proper team play, work together and plan etc.
I have been using my mic from my webcam but have got my headset coming today. Again = WOW!

I rarely use it for general play cause the fastest servers for me are german and dutch. People there talk german and dutch and I speak Croatian and English only. When I am playing with a friend I always use it.

A few times I ran into english players and I talked with them. It is so much better to play with VoIP.

I use it all the time, adds so much more depth to the game, plus it's fun to laugh at people doing stupid things and you don't have time to laugh in text!

I use the mic only on emergency things, usually I am on my clan's TS server
