Portal is freakin awesome. I played it until 2 last night when I should have been studying for my mid term today. I literally lost track of time, I was only going to play for 15 mins, two hours later i realized how late it was.

I agree with Kr1Kit: Portal is a real blast and TF2 is my favorite new game (sucking up at least 2 hours a day).
The Orange Box is a real steal for anyone interested in great gaming. TF2 is $30 and Portal is $20. Or, you can get the Orange Box for $50 and get the Half-Life titles for free!
I'd love to play TF2 with you dudes. My Steam name is SonicPixel... and I'm a Pyro > Scout > Engineer.Comment

I got my net back on track and launched Portal. For some weirdest reason the Portal just stopped working after I had to allow a lot of HL2.exe traffic to go through. First time I could get into menus and started tweaking the options settings right and then came the firewall requests. The game crashed and after that it just crashed everytime I tried to lauch it. I'm not too worried though yet. Ep2 kept me company.
Now I'm happy that I have invested in some hw since the game is beautiful with max settings. The texture art is simply outstanding and shows how long way you can go if you just have them right. It's a first FPS game where I'm simply standing in one place and enjoying the scenery. Those vistas throughout the game (haven't fiinished it yet and looking forward for more) are absolute eye candy. Also I love the game's sense of self-irony

I wouldn't call it too short. I haven't finished it but it really opens up when you "finish" the actual gameOriginally posted by MicsterYes, you can get it seperately.
Portal is a lot like candy, short and sweet.
Get's more challenging and interesting when you go rogue android. I honestly think Portal is very innovative and it's a relief to see that someone is still willing to invent things in game industry.

I especially love the cake gag with "recipe" embedded to code.Comment

Just beat it. The finishing credits are one of the "best" I've seen.
kr1kit: Still trouble with lvl 15? You can walk through those force fields. Shooting a portal through one is not possible. Just place one portal to energy ball route and enter the force field chamber and place the other one and voila.
You can also deflect (in a matter of fact you need to do so later on) and block (use as a shield) energy balls with a cube.
And later on you need to think on your feet too which brings more challenge.Comment
