Hello everyone. Ive decided to bring up an old topic by using search instead of posting a new one then having be told to use the search. :)

Anyways I was wondering if this still works and is anyone still using the Widescreen Fixer? Ive left BF2 for a long time and now I have a widescreen monitor (1920x1200) and was going to start back up playing BF2.

I have been having bad timing all last week so I didnt mean anything bad about my post. I dont know what events happened but I'm sorry if I brought something bad up with my post bumping this topic.

Anyways I just came on to find more info about the Widescreen fixer. Im in a debate about it because some people are calling it a hack and some are calling it a Fix. So I dont know if this is really ok to use. Im going to try and do a Target line edit and see if thats playable. If not I might think about using this.

um dice added widescreen support in 1.5. So I would say that it is allowed

My thought exactly, they introduced it themselves and it's a bit strange that BF2142 didn't support it in the first place, any other game with the same release date/year does support the higher resolutions, they are just really slow on these things or something..

Heh, no worries. It was just unusual timing with the SPARTAAA! attacks yesterday and then this post getting dredged up. The coincidence was amusing is all.

So widescreen support was added for 2142 but I reinstalled my game last night after deciding I wanted to come back and play again only to find 1152x768 as the highest available resolution. Do I just force the resolution using the command line flag in the shortcut? I think I did this last night and everything looked stretched.

Edit: Nevermind, http://www.widescreengaming.net/wiki/Battlefield_2142, I guess I missed that whole bit in my haste when I was looking at it last night. /facepalm

I don't know about the PB legality, but widescreen support may arrive in the final version of the upcoming patch.
