When taking a walker to the middle of an infantry bottleneck (such as when trying to cap a flag), I can't even begin to say how useful it is having bait in my hand the second I eject.
I don't know how many times I've heard the mine warning tone and ejected, dropped the bait and re entered only to have nades/bullets/whatever slam into the legs of my walker the second I jumped back in.
It sounds funny, but that little split second delay (even when directly bound) it takes to switch to the bait will get you killed in heavy firefights.
