EA Downloader, WTF only 6 months to redownload game unless you pay more money?!?!

Since I downloaded the game how do I get to see my CD-KEY's?

As far as I know the downloadable versions don't use CD-keys, they are already tied to your EA account.

If the game/booster is already installed, EADM will only give you the option to play it, not download. Here is a link on changing the Windows XP registry(sorry, don't have Vista--Maybe someone else can help?) so that EADM will let you download:

And about EADM, you should be able to install it and download from your own account on any computer, regardless of you friend has any EA games or not.

I went to my HD to the C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\ but there is no Cache. i have uro and NS downloaded but i can't find this Cache where the download is supposed to be..

Do you mean Euro Forces?

Try searching for the relevant folders:
Euro Forces = bf2euroforce
Special Forces = bf2ep1
Northern Strike = bf2142_bp1

For those looking and not finding the file in the cache, Simply rename your Battlefield 2142 folder to something else, then restart EADM. It will allow you to redownload it. Then back it up to disk and change the name back.

Example: Battlefield 2142_

My biggest issue was that I had uninstalled EA Link and had no cache files - but yet Northern Strike still showed up as installed but I'd get kicked off of the servers when Northern Strike maps loaded. I couldn't uninstall it, couldn't download it again to reinstall it, and I never backed up those files though I had BF2 Armored and Euro packs. Now I'll make sure I stow Northern Strike safely away with the rest of them.

I was looking through the registry, trying to eliminate any references to Northern Strike and it was as easy as renaming BF2142 to BF2142x

Just found out about this mess today while I was going to the ea store to see how much the download for hellgate london was.

50$ + Tax + the 7$ extended fee for a download??? WTH?

You can get the game for 30-40$ in store and they had to pay to make the disk/box and so ship it there. The download should be cheaper!

Still for the same reason I got BF2142 digital (bad at keeping disks I lose or break them easy) I was going to pay the 50$ Its the whole idea of paying for "extended service" for only 2 years to get my game when the whole reason I like digital in the first place is they keep it safe for me for life.

2 years is just long enough to where I think "hey I have not played X game in a long time, let me go download it and play" just to log on and see I cant get my game. (after having to install there software none the less...)

So first thing that came to mind tho was "what about my BF2142 game and other EA Link games" figured I would be ok since I got them before this change.

Hoped over to these forums and found out the truth of the matter. I cant belive it, and I never got any kind of email or notification about this.

I am glad I found out before it was too late.

Looks like I have to go download all my stuff later and back it up, and hope to hell I dont lose it or have issues installing and using it in the future.
