I've seen this before and if it is not the SAAW we're talking about, is not a hack, but a glitch in the game. The same thing with the other post about there being APMs in slot 5 and 6 at the same time. On some servers there can be a weird kit-mixup bug where different unlocks are present than what the soldier should have.

I've seen dudes rezzing with their Pilums, knifing with Vosses, etc.

Weird little things like this have happened since the game was first released and I've experienced it many times. I've joined servers to have unlocks in my kit I shouldn't have and then I start to hear others complain that they have the wrong unlocks in their kit too. After a few rounds, everything seems to get straightened out or the server finally crashes (which has happened frequently after noticing these things).

I would not be so quick to judge folks as 'hackers'... My server admin friends are constantly on the look out for hackers/users and have caught very small numbers of them. Sure, some may get around the search, but IMO people give this stuff waaay too much attention.

Most of the time, the other person is just a better player. And let me tell you, there are some very, very talented players out there who do not need hax to pwn... I've been on the receiving end of that pwnage and while it's not fun, it's not fair to defame them either.

There's a glitch with the defib and rockets, it looks like someone's shooting rockets out of the defib, rezzing with the Baur, etc, but I've never seen a cross-kit mixup, it's usually caused by lag though.

It's worth noting that lots of "hackers" are really just ping/lag/netcode issues. It's funny to hear these things sometimes from clan-mates on TS-

All due respect, it is rather hard to tell if someone is cheating if there is no real way to substantiate if they are or not.

IMHO DICE/EA should unlock first person spectator mode on ranked servers so one can actually watch and determine for themselves. I can't understand why they don't allow it already.

Bah, get used to it. I tend to stick to servers that have decent admins otherwise I will end up banned. Hell, some admins would kick me because new players would demand to know how I was killing them so much with the UD-12 Shephard (http://www.2142-stats.com/SSoldier+stats.html). The admin[s] would figure there is no way I could rack up 50-100+ kills with that thing unless I was hacking. Guess they didnt know it has a ZOOM feature built into the gun.

The infantry accusations are even worse unless I am on Nerd's, Bommando's or Moongamers servers.

I wish more servers would enable demos, I think that would really reduce to number of false accusations. A person is less likely to be shooting his mouth off accusing somebody of cheating, when a simple demo check can expose him of just being a noob.
I have reviewed dozens, if not hundreds of demos, and you would be astonished how many times members of opposing teams run straight at each other and right by each other without either one ever realizing the other is the enemy.
Another very, very common one, is the number of players that allow a foot or elbow to stick through a wall and then they wonder how they got killed.
As RottnJP has stated, you find out a lot more, when on vent talking to clan mates. You hear it all the time, "wtf, how did you kill me with one shot!!" when in fact the other person unloaded with at least a half a clip.

Since starting to play BF in Aug 2002 with the wake demo, I have only once come across a person who I have suspected of using a cheat, a video driver hack, and that was in during BFV. Now I know there are more using hacks, just because I don't suspect somebody does not mean they are not using one. In fact, most players caught have below average stats. If you use the MBL as a measure, it would indicate about .01% of the players have used hacks at one time. This means if you run a server chances are once or twice a month you may have somebody on that is using a hack.
But sometimes I see up to 5 players within an hour getting banned from some servers, based only on allegations and nothing else. This rate of bans is just not statistically accurate.

I myself have never been banned (I'm just can't keep up with the young players), but I do know one very good player who I KNOW does not use hacks getting banned regularly, only because he consistently finishes in the top 3 every round. Play BF for 5 years, both pubbing and competitively, and you will likely be able to do the same. And seeing him getting banned for no reason other than being good, makes me doubt any of the other bans I see when playing. Actually I haven't played in a while, because is it just gotten so ridicules.

Yes there are hacks and cheats, but they are no where near as bad as many server admins make it appear. If you're a server admin and you are kicking multiple players a night, then you're just killing the game and community.

I couldn't agree more. I can't tell you how many times I read in chat that so-and-so is cheating. We have caught a couple with hacks through PunkBuster SS but the far majority of the time, the person is just really good. I remind my admins all the time not to accuse/ban someone for cheating unless they have the PB SS to prove it.

We stream to Punksbusted on all our servers and update from the Auto-MBL (Master Ban List if you are wondering) throughout the day. We also have Battle Recorder on all our servers. While it has helped us find the occasional player that likes to glitch inside things, typically it just shows that someone is good and knows the map well enough to use the environment for protecion and ambushing other players.

The next time you think someone is cheating, if you are on a server with BattleRecorder, download the game after the round and watch it. Put it on that player and watch how he plays. You will probably learn some really good strategies that will help you out next time.

because you could be on vent or ts and simply tell your buddies where everyone else is, but i would like to see some sort of spectator view but it just isnt practical

I Have this **** all the time, when i get in the gunship and own some idiots, If they start with : Hacker, fool *starts kickvote* I am happy, because you will be that good that people starts to think that you are a hacker and thats cool, After that I am gonna swear at them for being so stupid, Mostly the last thing i see is !b. But owell, from the 25 servers were i am Banned, are all the others still Happy with me:laugh:
