I totally agree. Watching trailers and ingame footage is nice - but you can not know if you will like the game just by watching those. Yeah, Crysis etc look nice and they probably will be fun to play. But to make them Games Of The Year 2008, when you didn't even play a Demo is just retarded. Hell, it's ****ing retarded.

like, you see an enemy FAV coming round the corner and detonate...Originally posted by Cas2) Set a time delay for RDX
Thanks
the rdx starts beeping incessantly...
a full APC and a whole squad of men roll past chasing the FAV driver...
BOOM!
nice =D

i never play single player games for more than a few hours at most. even bioshock bored me after a couple hours. 2142 is so interesting and so fun that i'll probably be playing until the servers go down, or until it has a sequel that's even better (if possible).

Bioshock is a great game but i cant play it for more than 2 hours at a time because i gets tedious and i usually need to change my underwear.
2142 is a great game that is very hard to put down.

Yeah I gave up waiting on 1.40, or have they even made newer patches and await for player responses to new bugs? Its been like since end of June... its going on October now

For the RDX time delay do you mean like a timed charge where you set it and it blows by itself or a delay from setting it down and detonating it?

Sure you could add an electrical motor or some sort of recoil mechanism to turn the drum after the shot.
Thus combining the disadvantages of both revolvers and automatics.
Anyway, I'm holding out hope for 1.4, though I do think it has to do with the mac copies, I mean, they ship 1.25 right? Maybe they gotta make a whole new mac 1.4 patch.
Also, who is sentience? And what happened to CKMC? Is he gone now?
If so, why?

It would be an odd decision to make releases for two different OS share patch version.Originally posted by sol1d sn@keAnyway, I'm holding out hope for 1.4, though I do think it has to do with the mac copies, I mean, they ship 1.25 right? Maybe they gotta make a whole new mac 1.4 patch.
Are they even intended to be compatible?

A normal person would assume that he wouldn't be limited to playing only against other Mac players, and you would only have a couple hundred people playing on a mac, and I'm being generous with that number.Originally posted by VrekiIt would be an odd decision to make releases for two different OS share patch version.

But i guess its possible that they arent meant to be compatible, look at the way EA likes to seperate us with boosters etc....

Just kidding, so put that flame-thrower down again.
I think it is fairly uncommon for a game to be cross-platform compatible.
But I think the BF servers already are cross-platform, right? (Linux / Windows)
The problem of course is that the clients will be different although most of the game logic probably can be shared. But version control will be "interesting" since the servers will expect the same version of all clients.
If the Mac FPS community is that small then it will make sense to allow cross-platform gaming, otherwise the Mac version will be dead in the water.

I agree, but one would assume(i use the word lightly not making an *** of myself)When purchasing a game it could be played with everyone else regardless of Mac/Win/Linux.Originally posted by VrekiA normal person wouldn't be using a Mac

Kinda like QW even if the linux version arrives after the Windows version.
Another example would be America's Army before the Linux/Mac versions slowed to a crawl only to be axed, they all worked together as long as you were running the same version.

One would guess it's more down to a resourcing issue when inevitably their focus is more on Bad Company right now.
