Of course it will be getting stale after this amount of time, just move on to the next game. And don't give me the excuse that there is nothing interesting coming out. If you are a casual gamer (like me) then there must be a ton of older games you never got around to playing, which you now can get cheap.

If we want a steady stream of new content, then we need to look at one of the subscription games.
With games like BF you get what's in the box, boosters etc. are extras that are nice, but in no way mandatory.

I think EA´s fanbase has gotten plenty of entertainment for their $50
Yes every game does get stale after some point I mean look at Bioshock that came out just last week... lots of hype... but the game actually lived up to the hype... and now a week later I'm already hearing rumblimg such as "Man I can't wait for them to release Bioshock 2 since I finished the game already and it's boring to keep on replaying the same levels"

The BF series have had a phenomenal success for an FPS and it is still the only game of any significance that actually support 32 vs. 32 online FPS. I think EA/DICE needs to do more to promote a 'community' of players to build up and maintain more interest.

I definitely have gotten my money's worth from this game for sure:salute:
I still play it a couple of hours a day so I'm not bored enough to give it up yet But I do have to admit that every time I hear of some long-time player 'quitting' the game I lose a little more interest in it, the same is when the pros walk away from the game.

It will be interesting to see how EA releases this game for the Korean market and whether any of that will make it back into the traditional US/European releases. They tried out a new marketing format for their FIFA Online game in Korea by giving the game away for free... then to get extra stuff and features in-game you'd pay extra in what they call micro payments; they've got something like 100,000 players online at any time and that's only in Korea. I'm betting that the BF-Korea series will go this route too with probably the generic game given away for free and the unlock, global stats, and boosters will be the 'extras' you'd have to pay for.

The Conflict 2142 mod added some new life for me, but almost no one is actually playing it. The First Strike mod should release soon and that's a definite DL for me! :yay:

Anything DICE/EA could do to allow for community-involved content creation would be cool.
Yeah I hardly see any populated server for Conflict 2142 which is a shame since it's a great mod. I think First Strike will be quite a hit I know I'll be one of the first lining up to download it once released.

My peeps and I have gone back to BF2's mods, few as they may be.

Hopefully FH2, First Strike and the new version of OPK will be released soon. Also, ETQW in less than a month!

well i have about 800 hours in the game and nowhere near bored. If i get tired of titan, i switch to conquest for a bit. Maybe play some NS for a change of pace. Most of you guys are bored because you are doing the same thing over and over again. Play a different class or try some other maps. Most of you probably spend all your time on a 24/7 server. If i did the same thing day in and day out without any variation then i would be bored to death as well. Theres alway the competitive angle to play as well. I have found that since i started playing in the comp scene it has given me a new love for the game that i did not have from pub play.

When i look at other games to buy that are in the FPS multi play area, i really don't see anything worth buying that will give me the same great gameplay as 2142 does. I would love to see a booster pack or an expansion for 2142, but i am not gonna be angry and cry about what DICE decides to do with the game.

Bioshock did not live up to the hype, no game ever truly lives up to its hype, just look at Halo ffs, the difference between the game and the hype is a jump off the empire state building

(look here for the truth to Bioshock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IBkT0Oi97E)

All i can recommend is play some different games, not just in the same genre branch out a bit, when 2142 gets a bit dull for me i go for CSS, Stalker, Total war games and god knows what else

I got bored eventually, even though I am an infantryman at heart. The biggest turn off for me was the lack of support. What did the patches do? Not a lot... Nowadays, patches tend to ruin balance instead of fixing something. I like to call this the EA syndrome, every EA game has it (especially Command and Conquer, and all the BF games....). I feel that apart from the technical fixes, the game should have been left the way it was. Well, ok, the Clark change is GOOD, but that's about it. Look at the booster; it mainly added new stuff that absolutely made no sense at all. Radar grenades? Useless. PK clip expansion? Ridiculously unneeded and horribly overpowered. Support Clark 12-RDX? More a gimmick then an actualy supportive weapon.

When I look at the BF2 (boosters), I feel a lot of disappoinment when compared to Bf2142's booster. Why are there no flashbangs, zip lines, semi auto snipers, grappling hooks, and most of all, where is the variety?!

Flashbangs, ziplines, and grappling hooks came with Special Forces, which was an expansion, not a booster. EF and AF really only added new maps, although the EU did get their own weapons, vehicles and awards, and AF did add those littlebirds and the two other planes.

I loved flying around riding on the skids, dropping mines around the tanks below... good times!

                        try that, accurate Bioshock review

Back to the thread though, might get bored cos i keep comparing the games to DC, BF2 was fine really i just lost the love cos it slowly degraded over time. 2142 is great and all but i just couldnt get over BF2, cos it was really all i wanted in a game, a modern day Battlefield...

But ALAS!!!! It was not meant to be

It's quite stale for me as I can't even start the game to play.
I have to resort to looking at my screenshots.

Well I'm going to fire it up tonight for another go. It's pretty much my "standby" game at the moment until something else comes along. Oh well.
