I use TS for general chatter, VIOP for talking to randoms in the squad.

I hate it when you join a squad and there are a group of people talking general crap, nothing game related. If you want to talk to your mates do it on a TS/vent server, there are plenty public TS/Vent servers out there with no passwords.
