well it's a more fast paced shooter than 2142 and it has better GFX IMO.

hmm... i think i'd recommend you to stick with playing SF only. Vanilla maps aren't as well designed and tend to encourage grenade spamming. The grapple hooks and zipline in SF allows you to avoid chokepoints. There aren't any airplane maps in SF so you don't need to worry about their grief and maps that have helicopters usually have AA vehicles to help "try" to balance things out.
Oh... and watch out for the artillery, grapple hook wall glitchers, and jihad rambos on quad bikesComment

However, your approach and mental state is important. BF2 plays a little differently. I'd advise seeking the differences so that you can learn to appreciate them instead of despise them.
I really enjoyed BF2, SF and it's expansions. SF has some of the best infantry combat ever. Fantastic. I like tanks and helos and the Armored Fury expansion has those vehicles in large numbers on gorgeous maps with great gameplay. It's always fun to battle for the 'homeland' and everything, too. The jets are fun to fly on the Euro Forces expansion, as well as the AA is fun to shoot those jets down. The shear number of maps and mods for BF2 make it a truly worthwhile game purchase.
I recommend picking up the version listed below. It consolidates everything on one DVD. :yay:

PR is a LOT of fun, it's very realistic but the community is incrdibly hostile vs new players o.0 I was a asniper (and being able to snipe targets at 700m, AWESOME) and everyone was yelling at me cos I was doing this and that wrong, when I asked them "Would you like some whine with that?!" they replied with"drop dead nub". I've fallen into the "assume" trap.
APO/FPOs are state-side ZIP codes assigned to foreign lands where folks in service can have their items shipped to and then that location forwards the mail/package to the final destination. If you're not in government or military service, you'll probably not have an APO or FPO.

I play BF2 and 2142, I got bored playing BF2 after 2 years
so now I play mostly 2142 and sometimes bf2 with Desert Conflict and POE2 mod
