Eh, i'd enjoy PR more if the guns actually hit where you aim them. I find myself spamming for effect more than i aim, unlike 2142, where bullets hit where i want them to.. go figure.

As for starting over... i'm way too driven to win to do that, i'm not going to nerf myself, i have whores to kill.

Hmm, i didn't even know that US military uses Voss..

Anyways, i persume that includes all the training rounds and shooting for fun rounds..

But if that ratio is during combat, they really must suck at shooting...

Win the match, kill people, defend flags.

with a noob soldier there is no way i'm going to take out an entire squad that's behind cover capping a flag. I mean apart from charging in and hoping my magazine is big enough to feed so many bodies.

No, they don't suck. The ratio's have always been sort of like that in war, which is of course way different from battlefield 2142. Needless to say, when a bullet hits you in real life, you are not going to reason "well he's shooting kinda noobishly so i'll just stand here and shoot back.. i can probably kill him before he does me in".

            Yeah...

Well, Battlefield 2142 is a game, in real life if you get shot, you really don't have much spawnpoints..

Of course, but you were the one saying army guys suck at shooting. :p

Yes that is a real challenge. If I find myself separated from the squad (or is the last guy standing) against more than 3 enemies I'm a goner for sure since there isn't enought bullets. There are those rare moments where I wished I had FRAPS running when I took out 2 guys with the Krylov, then 2 guys with the pistol, then the last guy with the knife... so basically their whole squad in a couple of seconds. Oh well seeing that again would be like waiting for lighting to strike twice in the same spot:shakehead:

There are definite limits to playing [NAKED], and more importantly, I know my own limits so I don't 'go charging' anywhere without backups:nod: As DeathEngineer I had my fair share of 'charging in' so it's a totally different style of playing now that I'm running around [NAKED]. It's definitely not for everyone.

Thanks. It's been fun to 'work' a little at this. It's good to set goals.

I've really been working on my KDR. It still is sad at only 1.84 but I've earned that. I play very aggressively now and I frequently put my soldier into harms way during Titan assaults. That will kill your KDR. But that's offset by the Defense where I'll typically have a 4:1 KDR...

I've been playing mostly Titan lately. I start the round as Engie and finish as Support with a Clark for the assault or defense. My accuracy has gone up as I've switched from MG to Clark. It's also difficult to miss with the Pilum.

I did buy a gaming mouse mat and a good Logitech mouse. However, it still often feels like I struggle to get my sights on target. Perhaps its age.

I do know that my overall satisfaction with my performance has increased. I place in the top three in more than half the rounds I play. That gives one a sense of accomplishment!

The major stipulation I had with this latest soldier was to have fun. That's been my motto!

I remember playing with you on the BandOfBrothers servers. It is sad that those servers are empty so often...

An interesting comment on the 'bullets fired' part of your post is that real MG guys don't care how few rounds they put downrange. Instead, the important part is HOW MANY rounds you've put downrange... Suppressive fire is something not rewarded in this game... It'll put the cabosh on your accuracy.

RambRobb is looking good and nice performance increases. When I set out with the re-training I had a goal of 2+ spm,2+ K/D, and 25%+ accuracy. My spm and accuracy is holding pretty steady at my goals but I still have to work on improving my K/D. It is quite a challenge to balance between maintaining a high spm and K/D at the same time isn't it? I mean you can play it really really safe and get a really good K/D... but then your spm suffers. Then on the other hand if you take more risk to maintain a high spm your K/D suffers:wall: Oh well, I guess what would have been the point of setting up a personal challenge if it ends up being easy right?:salute:

You have a major increase in accuracy and you're maintaining it too what did you do differently? or how did you train yourself to be more accurate? I did a couple of things:

                  * Found a better mouse/mousepad combination (G5 mouse with generic settings and RocketFish pad)
                  * Take more time to line up the shots (this is a matter of knowing whether I have enough health to last long enough to line up the shots accurately)
                  * Practice, practice, practice with short bursts and sway-compensation

It took a long time to reach my goals; it's been hard work but most importantly it's been a load of fun too.

As a coincidental side-benefit of starting a new soldier BackToBasic also has a much better W/L than UpgradeLooter... which has a better W/L than DeathEngineer I don't team-switch and the servers I play on surely don't stack the teams. Maybe I've just been on a lucky streak but it's still pretty unexpected.

Hey maybe you should use the same sig I have to show the progress between your 2 soldiers.:salute:

[edit] BTW, I used to play on BandOfBrothers quite a bit and learned a lot there. Unfotunately lately the servers either have been unreachable or are full

I was just joking... I've been in the (Finland's) army myself... And i know that they teaches you how to shoot in there... :salute:

I'm telling you, when they pass out the ammo, there's normally not a shortage! The only time a soldier doesn't want to discharge his weapon is when he doesn't get to shoot enough and knows he's going to have to clean it anyways...

I've actually gone through three barrels in the matter of a few minutes we put so much lead down range. This is some fun which has no counterpart in the civilian world--besides gaming.

I tried playing [NAKED] on titan maps but that didn't work out too well since they're so armor heavy before the shields go down. Attacking/defending a titan is great but before that it's just a whole lot of time trying to hide from the armors while capping/defending silos. Needless to say my spm (and some times K/D) on titan tended to fall off the chart (on the low side) because the rounds are so long with big gaps of nothing happening:dead:

Same here and since we're about the same age... I blame it on age too:laugh:

Since the last couple of server moves my ping to them got higher and higher and it's hard to have a good time when the ping is in the 150-200 range

I've never been in the military but in the real world I'm more of a "single-shot bolt-action Remington 700 Sniper" kind of guy. Uh... that's sniping paper targets that is:p I have a couple of buddies that used to be in the Army and Marines and have gone full-auto shooting with them years ago and you're right... nothing compares to shredding an old TV into specks of dust within seconds

Ohhhh, that hits home. I was one of the votes to move the servers... I was fortunate to be in one of the host clans: [gT]. We thought we knew what we were doing...

I've had regret over that server move ever since. I did learn a lesson from it though. If you've got a popular server, don't mess with it. :shakehead:
