I quit BF2142.

to even think that CoD4 or EQ or anything other game release is going to kill a certain game then your kidding yourself.

everybody thought 2142 would kill bf2...but bf2 is still pretty popular. if your quitting, or have quit then do so. posting on the game forums solves nothing. move on. play your game. post on that game forum.

I'm quitting. I have had a break for some time now, and I just played ONE game of 2142 and got SICK of it after 5 seconds. i walk, broop broop, dead. Voss. Whatever. I also bought bioshock, which is the best game I have ever played in all my life (which is 18 years, it beats zelda!). That game is unique, as opossed to this bf crap with a patch that is probably going to die as an aold bearded beta patch instead of just being released anytime soon. All I see in this game frustrates me, so i am officially deinstalling 2142 soon. BF2 and BS have my attention now.

You know what bothers me? The devvies had BF2 as an example. They saw what they did well (Vibe, theme, factions, looks) and they saw what they did wrong (jets 'n balance). Then they create a piece of crap like 2142. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed 2142, but my 2142 memories are blown away by BS/Bf2's awesomeness. I mean, look at variety for an example: bf2 has it all: Tons of vehicles, tons of maps, tons of classes, and all the weird stuff like flashbangs, grappling hooks, tear gas, zip lines, nice n crispy ironsights, way better sounds (the Krylov sounds like the ***** gun it is), MUCH more variety in maps. Seriously MUCH MUCH more. I don't get why they made 2142 so boring compared to BF2. BF2 is like a rollercoaster.. 2142 is like being stuck in a traffic jam.

Anyway, I'll stick around to these forums (ever since I got perma-BANNED from the GameFAQs forums.... bunch of artards), to you know, scream at all the vossies and krylovers ;P

You're really missing a golden opportunity there, though, woozie. You should do what I do now...see how many times you can get killed by the Voss! I just thought of this fun little sidequest today after playing three rounds in which I died only by the Voss, frag nades (both mine and teammates' :|: ) and vehicles/orbitals (and only a couple of either of those)...and one death by the Baur on Tunis. Otherwise, all Voss/PKs, and nades. It's really kind of fun to try to go out of your way to not be killed by any other weapon. Admittedly, it's not really too difficult, but still amusing. :p

Sorry man but I don't think I'll be upset to see an end to your whining.

I don't even have a TBF2 account. I don't really mind the Gay36E. It might be a lame weapon, but they can be owned. What's more, you have to pay more money to get it, instead of the easy unlockable Voss and the always available Krylov. I probably see ~8/32 people with the G36 max. I see around 15/32 with a Voss and another 15 with the Krylov. The G36 might be easy to use but at least it's not available to every single player. Also, there are so much interesting kits to spawn with (Instead of the crappy Engineer and the Support class who gets owned by the pk rockets), which ensures that you won't see 30/32 with the same weapon.

Well sir I am glad I was able to be of service for you, even if it means quitting. You'll still see me around on the forums every now and then, sometimes there are interesting topics that I just feel like participating in.
You might think that I am a baby, but there are many more 'babies' here who agree with me when it comes to certain game aspects. I never ment to be a crybaby, I probably just posted some of my messages a little bit too bluntly... I guess.
And I will never ever stop crying. If the RPK-74 in Call of Duty turns out to be the new noob cannon then I will be more then happy to complain about it. I like discussions.

Sad thing about battlefield is that while its a great game there are always times when you can have a miserable experience, however its usually down to the people you are playing with

Yeah, the ranking system made people whore boring weapons/maps/vehicles/strategies just for the points.

If any game is going to keep your interest it is going to be because of the people you are playing with. If you have a good group that plays together regularly you will have fun and the game will not "get old" because there is always something you can do.

A couple of nights ago we had a knife only tournament on our Unranked clan server. 6v6 and no one took any flags so there was no ticket bleed. Everyone on TS together and the person to come away with the most kills won. It was a blast for everyone.

However, if you aren't going to find a group to play with and talk with them over VOIP or TS or Vent, any game is going to get old eventually and you will quit.
