Yeah often there's only one or two servers with 3 players on :p
Why no love for Shuhia Taiba?

You can drive from a base to another base in shuhia tabia without following the road. As example, from EU base you can follow the river close to silo 2, take to the right and cross it, drive in the canyon and your approx. halfway between silo 4 and the PAC base. Can do it in about 30 sec. in FAV (don't know with other vehicules...)
Pretty good for annoying the commander base assets...Comment

Makes me wonder about the story line: If the PAC invaded and pushed the EU back, then shouldnt Minsk and Berlin be favored to the PAC instead of the EU [for conquest]?
Those maps need to be adjusted. For any naysayers, yes I know that the PAC have uncaps and the EU doesnt. What I am talking about are the chokepoints.Comment

I 2nd that, also it seems like a lot of wasted space to the south.Shuhia is a good map but the layout of the map with the center silo/cp being on a mountain makes it really difficult to go from one side of the map to the other(when you're on the ground) without having to climb up that mountain then down the other side. Together with the fact that the map is huge makes the simple act of getting from one cp to another painfully slow (in ground vehicles). I always end up spending more time 'traveling' than actual fighting when ever I'm on Shuhia in conquest mode. In Titan mode it's not so bad since you have the titan pods to get you places.Comment

I'm a Shuhia Taiba fan. It was the very first map I played after the Sidi demo. But, this is an Engineers map... those that don't care to play Engie and use vehicles typically hate Shuhia.
I personally like the wide open space and I don't have trouble dealing with gunships on this map. There are plenty of vehicles and AA to mess with any gunships and it is a perfect map for the "Transport of Doom"!Comment

I am a huge fan of Taiba! If someone made a 24/7 server (conquest & titan) I'd be all over it.
If you get a good battle going for the main hill it turns into an intense fight - those are the best.
I'm not much of a gunship pilot though, and I've never had trouble with the gunships on the map. I just pop shields and shoot them down...Comment

Here's why I don't like it...
*Map is too big to walk, all vehicles gone, spawn on titan and get in a transport, take off and have 6 people spawn in, get to first contested silo, DON'T land, wait for people to pod out, SPAM "BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT", nobody moves, Get yelled at in chat and over VOIP to land, ~DON"T DO IT, YOU'LL GET A BUNCH OF TEAMKILLS~ come lower to land, impatient azzez jump out - all 6 of them, MINUS 18 points.....*
or...
- come to a hover and get AA'ed
- come to a hover and get rocketed to death even with shields up by a gunship
- come to a hover and get EMP'ed by an APC and crash into indestructable lightpole
- come to a hover and get one shot killed by a tank 400 meters away
- come to a hover and get spit on by a lama with 1 HP remaining, clogging the engines, messing up the windshield, panicking and crashing into that damned indestructable lightpole.
- Swarms of locusts and thier incessant buzzing deafening me, causing disorientation, losing equalibrium, popping shields, but still getting rocketed, tv missiled, EMP'ed, AA'ed, SAAW'ed, RDX'ed, RAMMED, Parachuted, one shot killed by that tank, AND RUNNING INTO THAT GODDDAMNED LIGHTPOLE all at the same time...
- then having to walk 500 miles back to the uncap to do it all again.

We have it in a rotation with Shuhia/Gibraltar/Cerbere/Belgrade/Tunis/Berlin that we just added to our list of servers. You really need some teamwork to control the map because it is big. I prefer the 32 man size as the 64 man is really spread out. On the 32 man size, each side still gets 2 gunships plus a transport in their uncaps. I like it better than Suez as most of the time on Suez it seems like you make a mad dash for the back flag as PAC and EU ends up spread out all over the map.
Anyone that is interested in getting it rolling send me a PM as I idle in our servers during the day while I'm at work to start them.
(Battle Recorder is up too on it.):)

I only play Conquest, and I'm definitely not a fan of Shuhia Taiba. I love Suez Canal, and think it has an excellent blend of high-quality vehicle action and infantry combat; while there's plenty of breathing space for vehicles to do their thing, the flags aren't too far apart for infantry to traverse between, and you often get some nice showdowns over open land with cover being used, etc.
Shuhia Taiba is very similar, but I think it's just that little bit too big; it's the kind of map that you absolutely need vehicles for, and it is definitely tipped in favour of them, while Suez Canal provides a smoother balance of both. When I play Shuhia Taiba, I get that same "I have just travelled a million miles in a vehicle, got out for some good infantry fighting, and gotten potted; I now have to do the same again" feeling that made me quit a lot of BF2 games (for those who didn't play BF2, most of its maps are of the Shuhia Taiba/Suez Canal type of size and open layout).
There's also the subjective variable of me thinking Suez Canal is a much prettier map, mostly due to the lighting; it's no coincidence that I end up spending most of my time on the more visually compelling maps.

A tank takes about 90 seconds, which can be a small eternity, but it can also make a giant difference at the very start of the a round, which is when it's worth doing. I don't like the uncap that's up on the mountain and much harder to get out of -- well, not harder so much as having fewer and quite predictable routes out of the base. It's pretty easy to bottle armor up on there if you have sufficient (yet still few) vehicles in the first silo below.
This was, for a time, my favorite map (in Titan mode-- never played it on Conquest), and I never hesitate to join a server running Shuhia Titan. In each of the 5 bases containing silos, I can recall instances of epic fighting, heroic teammates coming out of nowhere, brilliant squadplay to defeat tricky tactics or overwhelming force and general humiliation of my enemies. Sure, I've been humiliated on... yeah, all 5 of those silos as well, but it's all fair.
Yeah, sometimes the gunships with great pilots seem to unbalance things, but then again there's AA next to every silo, and there are some silos at a comparative disadvantage for the gunship because of obstacles, lines of sight, etc. Move the titans forward and balance it out. By the way, once the titans have their shields down, it can be really tricky to get on board if the enemy has a good defense-- Titans could be over their uncap, they could be over open ground (good luck hiding an APC there) or they could be over rough terrain. Get some good defense gunners, and you'll need some fancy-pants pilots and skilled APC drivers to get aboard.
I can see how Conquest would be frustrating on this one, though. And yeah, there are those few times when I'm jogging up a hill, trying to get to a silo before action leaves or the enemy heads my way en masse. Oh well! In general, the titan map is awesome.Comment

I dunno for gunships and armor you don't have that many choices for maps. When Highway Tampa comes out I will definitely add it to the rotation. Besides that you have Minsk, which I hate, Sidi Power Plant, with ONE gunship for the whole map. I only like 16 player Sidi, and it runs on the Infantry server. Besides that there is Verdun which is not bad but I never really got into. That only leaves me with Suez and Shuhia.Comment
