i activated my copy (finally) at 6.30 ish on friday and played it straight until 2 am in the morning, the game is awesome imo

Finished it yesterday, being the 'good guy'. I'm little disappointed in how quickly I finished it, even with all the time spent looting, but it was still an excellent game!

So good infact, I plan to replay it being the 'bad guy' this time...

I rented it for my 360, worth the $7, nothing more. That's why I love console gaming, I can save cash renting games instead of buying them or trying to trust a demo.

From what I played in the demo it was freaking awesome.

Some people said it was to short and to easy.

The game (reatail, demo, steam download & regular download) installs a rootkit that cannot be removed from your system.

I will agree that 2k are a tad crap and all, Bioshock release was one of the worst game releases i have ever witnessed, but believing everything the Inquirer says is a mistake because a lot of the time the articles on there are pants

"rootkit is a set of software tools intended to conceal running processes, files or system data from the operating system"

The software 2K games use is completely within this defenition, you have no control over anything they wish to do after you have installed it on your machine, and to boot you cant get it off.

Do you really trust some company that much that you would let them have uncontrolled access to any area of your PC?

I don't see how that follows from any of the links that you posted?
They don't need to have remote access to your computer to limit how many times you can install, any game that connects to a central login server could potentially do that.

Evil, yes, but I don't see how it is a root kit.
