Dude seriously what is your deal? You just wait for people to post something so you can immediately say the opposite. Devils advocate or just plain a-hole, either way it's stupid. And I sincerely hope the soldier Vreki is either your second one or someone else entirely, because if its really you at Colonel Silver with so-so stats then you have pretty much been talking out your *** this whole time.

Because you initially claimed that noobs using the walker on Camp Gil would cost you the whole map.Originally posted by PHATHEAD009 View PostVreki I don't see why you feel the need to call me out again and again. I am just trying to get across the point that Camp G can suck without your walker, and 9/10 you lose the walker on that map because of some noob. It's pretty simple. I am not trying to argue with you
Thus implying that the Walker should be reserved for top gunners.
And yet it appears that you have done very little yourself to combat those dominating walkers.
I also very much doubt that one vehicle can dominate a map, BF2142 vehicles are too balanced for that.
Losing the Walker sucks, but it does not equal losing the map.
Now having the Walker captured by the other side, thats a problem
I very much dislike when someone starts to feel ownership of the assets on a public server. Soon we will have people justifying TK for vehicles because "That noob will cost us the game". I know you didn't say that.
On topic thenOriginally posted by PHATHEAD009 View Posthence the mentality of not staying still, hence the gunner not being able to hit anything, hence the original point of this entire thread...how's that for bringing it back on topic? :yay:)
The Walker AA gunner is there to protect the Walker. If the driver feels that movement is more important than good AA, then that is his call.
Whenever possible I stick an IDS to my walker, and sometimes to the teamwalker even though I'm not in it.. I helps keeping the Recon pests down

Does my stats have any impact on my arguments?Originally posted by PHATHEAD009 View PostDude seriously what is your deal? While not impressive, they show that I have experience with AV combat as an Engineer, and that I have played enough rounds on Gamp Gil to know the map.
Try addressing my arguments instead of attacking me.
They might be below average, but my Pilum stats and my Camp G W/L are better that yours.Originally posted by jasonx.dkdont play Camp Gib vrek
and about the engis, well if many pilum-freaks are shooting at me must there be many of them loool
and and a little thing your stats stinks vreki muwhahahah
Otherwise our infantry weapon stats are pretty much alike, so I guess you suck too. Welcome to the club.
Edit To Add: Ok, this is getting a bit petty, so I will let it rest here.
I will just sum up that in my opinion nobody should be prevented from using the vehicles just because they are new. As long as they mastered the controls, e.g. don't crash then they have as much right as anybody else.
Fell free to disagree.

I really don’t like having a-gunners in any vehicle except the gunship and most of the time they aren’t any good there either. 9/10 all around they just help get me killed. They are always shooting at things THEY CAN’T KILL! Things like Tanks, APCs, or other Walkers. They are shooting at things THEY CAN’T KILL while something they can kill is attacking. :shakehead:
I mostly get killed thanks to the gunner giving the enemy early warning or ignoring the real threat that I can't reach. If there is no A-Gunner I can jump into the anti-air and take out aircraft myself or the anti-armor guy on top of a building. I’m not worried about the transport on the other side of the map, because the chances of bringing it down are next to none and it is no threat to me. I’m worried about the things right above shooting at me that the a-gunner is ignoring. Not to forget the constant GOGOGO crap and in the walker the senseless launching of the EMP into the ground. I survive longer by myself in a vehicle than I do with a teammate. If gunners paid attention to their surroundings, knew what they can, and can not kill I wouldn’t mind.
Idiots in walkers will cost you the whole map and so will idiots in general. Noobs aren’t that bad it’s just general all around idiots. One time I spawned into a game on the losing EU side on Cerbere Landing and was able to snatch the PAC walker. The pilot bailed out of it and I turned the tide with 49 kills. We won by around 10 so I would say I made the difference. I think the general server population was incompetent it’s not that hard to kill a walker and it’s even worse to hand it to the other team.Originally posted by VrekiBecause you initially claimed that noobs using the walker on Camp Gil would cost you the whole map.

I’m not saying people should claim ownership, but the game is about team play. A good team game is when everyone has a place and knows what they are doing. If you know you’re no good in vehicles why make things worse for your team. Someone who lasts 2 minutes and gets 1 kill in a walker isn’t really helping the team or themselves. :salute:

Walkers have a huge impact on who wins. However getting the walker on maps like Camp Gib is very hard and is more about who has the lucky spawn. (so you argument there is baseless)
also to me it would seem that jasonx.dk is an insane walker pilot, so at least he is awesome at something. (which is more than i can say for you vreki)
i don't really mind if someone gets our walker blown up without killing anyone. what i do hate is when morons jump out and give the other team 2 walkers to rape us with.

So what? None of my arguments are based on my BF skill, so I don't see how attacking that changes anything?Originally posted by Timmmmmyalso to me it would seem that jasonx.dk is an insane walker pilot, so at least he is awesome at something. (which is more than i can say for you vreki)

Just a quick couple of points to consider:
I'm thinking about Camp G here...
Having someone is better than it lying empty.
I prefer whoring my Voss to walkers, but frequently find myself having to take our walker to prevent it falling into enemy hands.
Newbs do stupid things
Some sort of driving test sounds a good idea. Way back when, I remember getting VOIP advice from my aa-gunner, I've learned better stuff since, but it at least made me competent at the time. When was the last time you tried to educate the newb you're riding with? it's for your own benefit after all As a favour to us all, make sure the first thing you tell them is to go down with the walker - the other side really don't need two.
On the moving/stopping thing, first priority is staying alive. The situation dictates whether that's moving to avoid enemy fire (Pilum/Arty), or staying still so the AA gunner can kill the engie camping on the roof.

I concur, that does get annoying.Originally posted by sniperghost666 View Posti know being in the walker blowing up stuff is fun, i've done it often myself. but if you have a gunner in the top turret and he/she starts shooting in the general direction of something, chances are that they're trying to save both of you by shooting something out of the sky or a ground target. check your map for spotted targets and for gods sake STOP WALKING!!!!! it's virtually impossible to hit a moving enemy gunship or a transport from a walking battlewalker. just do your gunner and yourself a favor and give them a few seconds to at least shoot them down or scare them off. THANKS!!!
