BF2142, Quake War and Crysis - same type of game

I have to agree with Cantina. No one mentioned CoD4 and that looks awesome. I still saw few gameplay videos and it gives me the feeling it might be like Ghost Recon. Not as tactical but just as easy to die. I may be wrong so don't count on that, it still looks awesome.

Crysis. Game everyone talks about. Multiplayer (Power Struggle) sounds a little like a VERY upgraded version of Counter Strike. With all that customization I am looking forward to get it. Like other people said you don't need top of the line hardware to play it either. It is DX9 compatible but of course I'll be doing upgrades, its all about the DX10 eye candy.

I have the Beta 2 of ET:QW. Disappointed. Game sux. Do I need to say anymore? Every single aspect of it is horrible. Classes are way unbalanced and only reason why you should use all of them is because of the objectives that no one does. Strogg ftw, all they need to do is shoot and defend. Heck, whos stupid idea was to put nitrous is every damn vehicle. The flying vehicles control is horrible. Wtf am I talking about, ALL the vehicles control like crap. Beta to full can only improve so much... Way too many mistakes to fix them all. Hell, the game was a mistake. This is how disappointed I am about this game while I was looking so forward to it.

while they're all fps games, they're different.... ETQW looks impressive, but seems to be a letdown from the reviews I'm hearing of the beta... I'm reserving judgment until I buy it.... Crysis looks INSANE, however I'm sure it will require a state of the art system or beyond for max eye candy... definitely getting it(after many new parts )

at least for me, 2142 will remain in my drive most of the time...

Go try ETQW yourself, it's in PUBLIC beta... or at least it was..... I tried it myself, and it was a very big letdown. I was hoping that would replace bf2142 as the game I play even as 2142 wasn't quite as good as I was hoping (but definitely doing better then bf2 was as far as fixing the game)...

Unfortunately, I'm not going anywhere (sticking with the battlefield series)... and won't touch ETQW again with a ten foot pole.... sad really, because there are a lot of good concepts (in terms of gameplay) in that game (ETQW), but they executed them horribley IMHO. And it plays very... um... awkwardly.

Quake Wars is definitely on my must buy list. Infact, I've already preordered it. I have no idea on what Bommando is talking about, Beta2 was excellent, fast paced, and strategic, though a little messy when it comes to teamwork.

Crysis looks to be both a great Single-Player and Multi-Player game. Graphics are amazing, and I would probably upgrade to DX10 first.

I will still play BF2142 every now and then, but these two will be the games I'll be playing the most.

I feel sorry for you then.... I don't think you can get refunds on preorders... can you? Let alone after you open it. ETQW was very high on my expectations list... and it was a AWFUL let down.... I mean bad. Return it while you can, if you still can! Don't say I didn't warn you! :P

was so excited about quakewars, but the beta turned out to be rubbish and made me cry several times

crysis WILL be the best sp experience to date... proper next-gen stuff, the mp we will have to see

tf2 should be absolutely awesome and i'm v excited about that

bioshock v soon, should be the best sp experience until crysis turns up on the 16th nov

Crysis MP come one!!! the Nanosuit shall ascend to god like status, punching jeeps! goin invisible, switching between the modes will make the combat awesome, it shall have the fast paced hectic awesome gameplay from the UT games but include different styles as well like slow tactical and vehicle fighting..

I think the "public" part lasted all of 10 seconds before the keys where gone.
Now it is just a tool for selling Fileplanet subscriptions. Deja Vu.
