          You know, you are setting yourself up for an awful lot of disappointment.
          Don't get too hyped about a game until you have at least played the demo.
          They all look great in the ads and pre-rendered movies.

          ET:QW was proclaimed the BF killer until the beta was released, but since people actually got to play it we haven't heard much more about that topic.

            ETQW is quite disappointing, I've played both beta 1 and beta 2 and although they're betas you get a very good idea of how the final game will be.

            * It looks OK
            * There's some nice features (each class can do so many interesting things)
            * Vehicles feel pointless
            * There's a punish system, on a game that is FULL of accidental TK'ers (if you think BF2142/BF2 has a bad setup, ETQW is alot worse!)

            Crysis looks awesome in single player, and I read something is morning about Crsys multiplayer which made me wanted this game even more.

            EDIT:

            Here it is, although I don't know the original source...

            Tactical Deathmatch
            This multiplayer mode is to please those who just enjoy jumping into a server and going crazy. In this mode there are no teams or any main objectives. However there may be player based objectives, but not much is known. The reason this mode and most of the others have the word "Tactical" infront of them, is simply because of all the environmental dynamics as well as the players ability to customize their tools, weapons and suit.

            Tactical Team Deathmatch
            This is just like the deathmatch but with teams. There may be control points and other objectives but that is unknown at this time.

            Power Struggle
            This is it, the multiplayer mixup we've been waiting for. This mode takes the best from a hand full of genres and creates something totally unique yet spectacular. Let me explain...

            All players start the game on one of two teams with nothing more than a pistol and a basic nano-suit. The two possible teams are the US Delta Force, or the North Korean Army. After you have joined a team with your pistol and basic nano-suit, you have to fight to earn points. These points do more than just make your name look pretty on the scoreboard. You will use these points to purchase weapons, vehicles and even whole manufacturing plants. How you earn points is quite interesting as it will depend on what type/rank of player you killed. For example, if you're a noob and you just killed a general, then you will get more points than if he killed you. This helps with balancing so the guy who gets the vehicle first doesn't just own the whole map.

            Each game in "Power Struggle" mode can last over 10 hours (5 Crysis days). If buying standard vehicles isn't enough, you can even crossbreed them with alien technology. So you can have an invisible tank or a jeep that has a mounted freeze gun rather than a 50.cal. The combinations are amazing.

            You can buy weapons from where you spawn, but you can buy better weapons and vehicles at certain control points of the maps. You can buy items using your prestige points which you can earn doing all sorts of things but mainly by killing enemies. However, when you die you will lose your gun and any of your vehicles, presuming your vehicle exploded when you died.

                quake wars looks terrible. run-n-gun, rubber bullets.

                crysis looks awsome. more for all the engine can do than anything else.

                frontlines looks pretty ****ty at this point, which makes me sad. it looks bad for the same reasons as quake wars.

                      The only thing the three games have in common is that they’re first person shooters.

                      Having only played BF2142 and ET:QW beta1 & 2 off of the list I can say that I’m not a huge fan of ET:QW – it’s not that the game is too twitch and fast paced like most would assume – I actually think the game isn’t arcade enough. The mix of slow tactical shooter like game play elements mixed with the fast paced shooter ‘twitch’ game play just doesn’t work.

                      There’s been plenty of bashing the ‘capture a flag’ game play of Battlefield’s conquest mode but honestly I feel like the games in BF2 & BF2142 are more dynamic and have a slight different feel to them every time I play, with the structured objective game play you see in ET:QW it becomes very repetitive very quickly. Unreal Tournament’s Assault game type also suffers from this “quick burnout” dilemma, so much so that it’s been dropped from UT3 completely I understand.

                      One of my favorite “objective” game types I’ve ever played was from Starsiege:Tribes called Defend & Destroy, where you had two teams each trying to destroy the other teams three key objectives (solar panel, communications dish and the main power generator). The maps were symmetrical and you didn’t have a limitation on which class to use to achieve your goal. Crysis Powerstruggle mode sounds like Defend & Destroy mixed with Capture and Hold, if the net code holds up better than Far Cry it should be a lot of fun.

                          tried the beta for ET:QW and it made me appreciate BF more. They got the pacing of the characters all wrong, like all of them got high on coffee and skating on soaped glass. The end result gives me nausea at the unnatural speed that we move.

                          If they dont fix it I dont see myself playing it. The model quality of the guns are decidedly simplistic. With BF2142 you can see minute details on the guns, such as the kill streak marks, and how the tag dangling from the knife glints and dangles realistically.

                          It's not a bad game, the jeep had a screen on the hud that shows the minimap in real time.The player models have a nice glint to them.Nice touch. but man did I get a headache playing it.

                            The "vehicluar combat" in Quake Wars Suuuuuuuuucks. I don't know about Crysis, looks good from the preview videos (these guys seem to know how to program in vehicle physics). :salute:

                                I played the Quake Wars beta and after flying around in the Strogg Attack Heli and getting shot down by someone's machine gun I said fu*k this and never booted the game again. BF gets it right imo. QW tries to make everything in the game easy to use, and as a consequence no skill is needed to play it.

                                I believe it was Bommando talking about the makers of Crysis working hard on the mulitplayer. Anyone know if there will be vehicles in the multiplayer like bf or is it just an infantry only game full of eye candy?
