BF2142, Quake War and Crysis are of the same genre. I checked out the trailers at http://www.gametrailers.com. Quake War is sort of pretty much the same as BF2142 in terms of visual quality. Crysis is very impressive. I wonder what sort of hardware is required to run it. So would you choose Quake War or Crysis, or you stay with BF2142?
BF2142, Quake War and Crysis - same type of game

while they're all fps games, they're different.... ETQW looks impressive, but seems to be a letdown from the reviews I'm hearing of the beta... I'm reserving judgment until I buy it.... Crysis looks INSANE, however I'm sure it will require a state of the art system or beyond for max eye candy... definitely getting it(after many new parts
)
at least for me, 2142 will remain in my drive most of the time... -
Quake Wars is a joke of a game (in my opinion of course) and I will skip it entirely.
Crysis looks amazing, but they need to nail the multiplayer for it to have any longevity. They're working hard on it and hopefully the MP will be up to scratch.
However, the one thing that BF2 and 2142 have going for them is that they are built from the ground-up to be MP games. The extra time spent tweaking balance and gameplay for a MP-only game really pays off IMO. DICE have done an amazing job with this genre and it's going to take a lot of work to top them.Comment

Quake Wars is definitely on my must buy list. Infact, I've already preordered it. I have no idea on what Bommando is talking about, Beta2 was excellent, fast paced, and strategic, though a little messy when it comes to teamwork.
Crysis looks to be both a great Single-Player and Multi-Player game. Graphics are amazing, and I would probably upgrade to DX10 first.
I will still play BF2142 every now and then, but these two will be the games I'll be playing the most.Comment

At least having ETQW on the market will give all the people unsatisfied with 2142 (bugs /cheaters/ glitches etc.) a chance to vote with their wallet/free time. (assuming that QW is not a bugfest)
It'll be interesting to see which qualities the players really look for in a MP FPS.
I think QW will have a hard time competing against BF even if it was "technically flawless".Comment

Crysis looks awsome, but I think it will be very diferent from bf and qw.
QW tries to use the best things of bf2142 and improve in others, but for me the game is a total letdown.
Didn´t like the gameplay, too much unreal tournement in it, everyones running and jumping, the vehicles have poor handling, I tried to use the spectators view and the battlefield seemed like a flea circus.
Before people make the pre order they should try it, I know a clan that has about 20 players and thought to change to qw and just one liked the game.
In my clan we where also thinking to play this game but after the beta lots of people changed their minds.
Well I stick to this game until cod4 or fuel of war.Comment

Stay with BF I would think.BF2142, Quake War and Crysis are of the same genre. I checked out the trailers at http://www.gametrailers.com. EQ:QW seems to be for the UT / Quake crowd. I don't like that kind of gameplay much.
I have tried the Far Cry demo, and I didn't really like it. Isn't Crysis based on the same concept?
You cant really say that the games are alike just because they are all in the FPS genre. Today that is a very broad genre spanning from singleplayer to MMOFPS, from pure twitch-shooters to tactical simulations.
BF2 and BF2142 happens to have just the right mix for me, the other games currently available or promised all seems to be placed differently on that scale.Comment

I watched Crysis' game trailers over and over again, and the most insane thing about it is the graphics quality IMO. Leaf and Grass are so much rendered as if they are real:shock:. I know it requires a state of the art machine to run. I am definitely upgrading it to Core 2 Dual with ATi HD 2900 so that the rig can handle. The only thing I am worrying about Crysis is that it would repeat GRAW's bitter failure. If the game can't run on 'general' hardware, then no body would be playing it and the game is over.
ETQW seems promising and it does not require high-end hardware to run. So I would probably say it will have its fair bit of share in the market.
Looks like the way that player changes gears is so cool in Crysis compared to BF2142. I wonder if that would be a good indication that newer FPS games are getting a niche alteration in design. I vote for Crysis definitely.Comment

Why does everyone think that you must have the best hardware available, aka. 4GHz core 2 and 8800 ultra in SLi, in order to play Crysis? You don't have to play on maximum graphics, or is that the only reason why you are buying it? If you have a state of the art computer there are many games already, and other games than crysis coming, with awesome graphics.
I'm getting so sick of "omg Crysis fRtw11"-posts that I don't want to play it.Comment

ETQW is a great game, the only thing i dislike is infinite sprint, but i while its similar in style to bf its a different experience imo
Crysis next to Bioshock is my most wanted game, stand in the middle of a road and bash the hood of a car, grab the soldiers, fling them into walls, you know your an actual supersoldier and thus the combat is so freakin awesome...i just want to play it badlyComment
