How to use the Baur?

Just unlocked it, packs a lot of damage! But I can't seem to aim it all that well - I try to pull the mouse down for a 2 shot burst, but the second round always seems to miss...where do you aim when bursting? upper chest? stomach area? Also...single shot or auto, or single normally, and auto when you know you'll be in CQC situations? Thanks

I don't use the Baur, but i know it's at it's best when on single shot, i would use it on single shot unless you know there will be alot of action in a tight are

Baur is a situational rifle, really it is designed for medium to long range encounters where you can take down and enemy before he can get in range to kill you. (i.e. Titan corridor, some of the longer alleyways in camp G, etc).

It's really all about the head shot in any situation though, personally, in CQC, I'll go auto and fire in 3 round bursts, aiming for the body and then by my 3rd shot getting a head shot.

Biggest thing is patience and never just hold down the button and spray with the baur, the clip is too small and with the recoil you won't hit anything. If you encounter someone in CQ, drop to a knee and fire in 3 round burst aiming for the upper body (with the recoil you will likely hit the head by your 2nd or 3rd shot) and he will drop almost instantly.

The shotgun attachment is also a great supplement when you have to do CQB.

I've used the Baur for quite a while now, mainly because everyone said the Voss and Krylov were n00b guns; I don't think I can go back to anything else.

It's perfectly capable in close quarters but you need to make sure you get a quick kill and pull out of extended duels, especially against the Voss and Krylov. These guns can spray and prey, you can't do that with the Baur. Single shot need only be used for quite long range.

Additionally, it is by far the coolest looking gun.

My tip: Use it in single shot for the first bit of using it so you can get used to it's feel. After you've become accustomed to it, you can switch to auto and do bursts. As stated, aim for the middle of the chest for a 3-shot burst kill. Use single shot for longer ranges, or just use PK's. I know a lot of people will protest that, but you've only got 6 clips of 20 shots from your Baur; conserve those. I can generally get 4-6 kills from one clip before I need to reload, depends on how accurate I am at the time. Practice with it in single player a bit too, it helps a lot :)

Personally, I find that each AR has it's own purpose. If I'm expecting a lot of CQB, I'll grab the Voss/Krylov; If I'm expecting a mix, I'll grab the Baur. (Haven't used the SCAR much yet ) The Baur is king of the AR's on Titan corridor defense

The baur is absolutley leathal in CQC. Just crouch and compensate for the recoil. If your lucky 4 shots can hit with 1 burst in med to long range.

/At ranges, you're better using it in single shot.

For closer ranges, crouch and scope and fire 2-3 round bursts.

For really really close ranges, fire in 4-5 round bursts while on the move :P

Thanks for the tips guys, just tried it out again just now, man it is good! Its like a sniper..without the rdx, which sucks...with the revive and the ability to kill guys who are hiding, which rocks, and it still gives me the range I need which I feel I lack when I use the Clark - I just don't feel good not being able to shoot at someone 100+ meters away from me. I find that I'm still playing like a sniper, going around the edges and shooting at people who don't know I'm there. For single shot the time it takes for the recoil to settle down seems a bit long...do you all bring it down yourself or wait for it to drop?

Anyhow, glad I unlocked the Baur

For me honestly, I just aim and shoot while trying to get the recoil to aim good. I usually get 2-4 shots on the enemy.
