Armed Assault? any good?

hey all

i was shopping yesterday and came across c+c tiberium wars for 20 quid which i should be picking up this week

i cam across a game called armed assault. I looked at it and it looks absolutely brilliant!. Can anyone who owns or has seen the game inform me on what its like and wether its worth buying??

It's a great game, as long as you have a decent graphics card you'll find it to be very enjoyable.

Search youtube for "ArmA" and have fun :)

it's crappy and buggy. Better just going for the operation flashpoint thingy.

Arma is all I play online at the moment,its tip top but be warned it doesn't work straight out of the box for a lot of peeps,you have to trawl the arma websites looking for tweaks to make it run well.

The last patch seemed to iron out a lotta bugs and with a bit of driver tweaking and messing around with the unofficial tips Ive got it running pretty smooth now.

I went from hating this game to loving once it got its bug ridden *** together.

Its got a big old learning curve to it but once you get the hang of it get online and try the Evolution map where the mission is to take all the towns on the map....it can take up to 10hrs to complete,you can dive in and out of the mission at any point and keep your mission rank when you return to that server (so you don't lose your 'toys' that you've unlocked).

The biggest tip I can give you is to turn down the 'floating zone' in the options,this is basically the sway of your weapon.It's meant to be realistic but you cant shoot sh*t because your character acts as if he's been on a drinking bender....my Gran could hold an m16 steadier than the default setting!

I reinstalled my copy the other day, and to be honest it still sucks balls!

However, I just found a decent mod for HL2 called Insurgency, a fantastic free mod!

i bought doom 3 the other day for a tenner just to play something new when i get bored lol.

anyone reccomend some games to me? i prefer games like this but i dont mind the odd c+c type games

do you have dawn of war then? ive played it at ezekiels but i havent got it myself. i think its good but there are some stupid things in it, like the way terminators always win, they take ages to kill and are always getting replenished as quick as you can kill them.

i havent played it, but honestly, if its anything like operation flashpoint, it kills battlefield, that is, if yer brain is bigger than a peanut and yer not a graphix whore.

I tried the demo, and the only thing it killed was my patience.
Sudden death from hidden enemies and the "floating zone" mentioned before makes it very unlike BF. I also suspect that it will be one of these games like AA where it is all about knowing the map.
