I dont think thats reasonable. It is one thing to see a enemy 50m away who may not have seen you, but if you turn a corner and he is standing 10m away then its shoot or die.

Not only that, but then you lead to a whole slew of other loopholes. What if the person starts stalking you with a knife? What if the recon player is attacked by one of the people in the base and the others cry foul because they never opened fire? You give too many options to the defending team on how to exploit this sort of rule to punish the enemy recon outside of what would be considered normal punishment (like being killed by gunfire for trying to sneak into an uncap to destroy assets)

No not normally, but I don't think most servers with uncap rules are going to appreciate someone laying waste to all those in the uncap just to reach the assets. We have a rule like that at BandOfBrothers but it's more like "stay out of the uncap unless you're stealing vehicles or destroying assets." On our server for example, I would kick a recon who was using a walker to make their way to the assets. But a recon player who killed a few people on foot should be fine so long as they're making progress towards assets and not sitting somewhere and camping.

Their rule does take the "no attacking uncaps" type of rule to the extreme, but I don't think it's so extreme that it goes against the ROC. As long as it's posted on the server loading screen like it should be then I'd read it and probably leave but I can see people enjoying a rule that restrictive.

We had one going. Was ranked under 200 in the world and it was only a little 20man server. Once march hit and the sun was outside shining nicely we lost a lot of people and interest in the game died right off once everyone hit brig. general.

I miss it a lot these days. No this, no that, this and that! arrgghh!

                  Very reasonable.

I would say that it goes against the this part:

"However, in such cases, attacking the base with reasonable intent to take out assets (artillery, command outpost or radar) are acceptable "

Their server rules only has this (from their homepage)
                  1. Anything covered by the ROC and including the following additions to it!
                  2. Commanders must command and not fight ( you will be warned and then kicked!)
                  3. No camping the Uncaps or locked bases (warn then kick)
                  4. Disrespecting of any member or player on the server! ( Immediate kick!)
                  5. No seat switching as a solo pilot in the gunship to tv guide.
But when you read the Ban forum you got the impression that a lot of unmentioned stuff was crammed in under point 1, due to their "special" interpretation of the ROC.

Unfortunately they have been busier than the American Embassy at the fall of Saigon, so all evidence is lost

The server is always populated and seems to be doing very well. The maps are very well rotated for both conquest and titan. People do go to the server and are very happy with the rules and do respect the admins.

Thats easy to say when you just wiped all complaints.

The majority of players on any server dont care much for the admins or server rules, as long as they are free to shot each other with the Voss.
And only a minority of those affected will bother to seek out the owners forum to complain.

Any comments on the evidence shredding?

First of all, whatever Simblade does to his site is own doing and his right. Just like here at TotalBF2142.com the owners have a right to do whatever they want as well.

But as for majority of the players not caring about the server rules is a bit much because its not fact. You are just assuming that majority of players think that.

True... but most professional sites like TBF2142 lock threads and keep them visible to the public (possibly moving them to a spam section where appropriate).

Usually hiding anything on a forum is a sure way to get people aggravated and to attract unwanted attention. It also keeps you from debunking people who lie about the contents of what was in those messages and generally leads to a lack of trust in general.

Its the Clans public face, so whatever he does reflect upon you.

I cant deny that it just my impression. Judging by the way players ignore teamwork I find it logical to assume that they care even less about the infrastructure of the server.
But I am not infallible, so I could be wrong.:)

The forum wipe was a bad move, but surely you (the clan that is) must have lots of evidence you could provide if you cared? Serverlogs or the 10+ emails?

As it is now, the public opinion appears to be against you, but the damage is not necessarily unrepairable.

yes, your servers are well populated. the pings are great and its very tough finding a server with a good ping to rotate ALL maps.

BUT, the ping thing is just silly.... what really irks me about the server is how the posts were removed. its like you guys are saying you're innocent and did nothing wrong, but you destroy all evidence reguarding the case. if you or your clan leader is 100% POSITIVE that what you guys are doing is legit... removing those posts would NOT even be a thought.

when you got rid of those posts, you admited your guilt. not by your words, but by your actions.

i was a regular, it was one of 6 servers i have in my favorites.... but i will never play there again because of this. you just lost one fair, legit, good, teamwork-based regular. of course, this will lead to my gaming community and all my in-game friends to not join me in that server. so, this probably lost you 2-dozen semi-regulars that were good team-players. you might not care, but i think that damages your server. i know it will stay populated for sure, but i know your quality of play just went down.
