Yea or when you hear footsteps behind you, so you quickly turn to see what it is, it's your guy so you dont shoot and as your turning back around he empties a voss clip into you, and to rub it in never revives ya.

Personally, I usually play medic and I do my best to revive my squadmates. However; when people scream at me over VOIP to revive them, a few things happen:
1. They forget to click on the 'call medic' button, so there is no indication on my map of their location. I'm not running around looking for your body when it's quite clear someone JUST KILLED YOU AND IS STILL OUT THERE.
2. When you use VOIP, it doesn't always tell me who's talking. I just hear the voice. I don't know what you sound like, sorry to say. Calling for a medic when I don't have your name makes an impossible task for me.
3. I've found VOIP-medic-callers have a tendency to become whinny. Whinny people don't get revived by me.
But that's just my experience with them.
However, if you want a dedicated medic (I'd say.... 75% of them time I'm Assault with a medic loadout) add me. It's Avenger_One.Comment

I've noticed a distinct lack of medics who revive recently, actually. I get revived about once every 20 times I die near a friendly medic. Some I can attribute to suicidal Clark charges, but others... I give up.
Getting heals and supplies... oh God, don't get me started.
One time I had low hp and low ammo. My quest began there. I found a medic and, whilst standing next to him, began to call: "I need a medic!" "Medic!" "Medic!" "I need a medic!" I continued for about 1 minute until I gave up and knifed the wall next to him. Instantly, he 180'd and saw me. "Medic!" He threw me a heal box! Clearly, having his tags stolen ranks far higher than healing a teammate on his list of priorities.
Now for the supply guy, this was a bit more difficult. I repeated the voice comm thing for another minute, then resorted to the knife. This guy was clearly somewhat dense or unattentive, because knifing the wall for another half-minute yielded nothing. Luckily for him, I was in no hurry since we were pinned down by two walkers... and I was an engineer with no ammo. He decided to fire his LMG at the walkers, or something and I spotted my chance. I walked into him, gently nudging his aim off. Wondering what had interrupted his attempted suicide-by-walker, he turned and saw me! "I need a resupply!" SUPPLIES AT LAST! He didn't drop the crate, instead opting to hold the box himself. I wondered if this guy harboured some secret intellectual voice, whispering gently in his ear "Don't drop the box! The walkers will see the ammo icon!" but it could have been equally possible that this guy didn't even know how to drop the box.
Having finally got my heal and my ammo, I managed to pilum one of the walkers, and got the 2nd down to about 20% health before it killed me.
Ah, well.Comment

(I posted this on the GFAQs forums too, so for those who read both this will just be a repeat, but I feel the need to rant in multiple places about this :p).
I swear, I don't know how people can complain about the Voss when there's something FAR worse in this game - DUMBARSE TEAMMATES.
Okay, so I'm Clark whoring on a city map server (yeah yeah, I know, city maps blahblahblah...when I'm jonesing for some Clarking I don't want to bother with trying to do so on the damn Titan, so sue me :p ) and, personally, I'm doing pretty well. Sure, the Voss still rapes me if I don't get that OHK, but I've grown to accept that. My teammates, on the other hand, must have been hand picked by the Special Olympics section of the BF2142 soldier pool. I get teammates who:
ā¢Give me NO backup.
I don't just mean no health, although trying to get one of the dozen Vossers on my team to actually DROP a frickin' health pack is like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip, I mean no BACKUP. I **** you not, on more than one occasion (this happens a lot on Tunis, for some reason) there are three teammates holed up at the corner of a building just waiting for the enemies to come around, and the enemy squad is doing the same, so it's kind of like a Mexican standoff. I say, '**** this', and come around the corner. Apparently I take them by surprise, because I finish three of the guys off before finally getting brought down by the fourth (and final). Now you'd think that my dumbarsed teammates would use this opportunity to take over the enemy, since we now outnumber them 3 to 1, but nope. They just sit there doing NOTHING. One with an LMG, two medics. The fourth enemy then comes and revives the three guys that I killed, but do you think I could get ONE of those sorry-*** medics to rez me? What, and actually risk being shot at by the enemy? BULLETZ0rZ?!? NO WAI!!!.
ā¢Cannot shoot guns worth a ****.
So they decide the best way to try to win this war is by spamming grenades everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Suffice it to say they aren't the best shot with those things, either, since they usually end up killing more teammates than they do enemies while they bounce off walls or go straight into the flag that a FRIENDLY squad is currently trying to take over.
ā¢Are colour blind.
Seriously, people, enemies are red, friendlies are blue. Red and blue. RED AND MOTHER****ING BLUE. It's not rocket science. It's bad enough I have enemies shooting at me, I don't need some nubtard spawning with his Bianchi and thinking, 'w00t sum1 2 shoot!' and taking me down to 10 health before realising I'm on his team. Then I have to try to get health out of one of the aforementioned medics. Yay.
ā¢Don't know how to command.
Yes, orbital strikes are great. They're even more useful when you use them BEFORE your squad gets to the enemy base, and not WHILE they're currently trying to take it. Srsly.
ā¢Cannot and/or will not pilot a walker.
I swear to the god of the Clarkians that there is never a walker whore on my team. Ever. The enemy team ALWAYS manages to have a dedicated walker pilot and sometimes even a gunner. But too often our own walker sits at the base and collects dust, or better yet the enemy speeds through in an FAV, confiscates it, and then proceeds to baserape us with it. Awesome. I don't really fault my teammates for this one and I'm not much of a walker whore myself, just my dumb luck that I manage to be on the only team in the history of city map servers that is devoid of anyone wanting the walker.
ā¢MUST BE SNIPER!
Of course, the #1 rule in battlefield is that the team with the most snipers automatically wins. Sure, the enemy team may have a squad with 5 medic/assaults and one support, but if I create a squad hoping for the same thing, I will get nothing but snipers joining me, and on the off chance I do get a medic, he will be too dense to revive me when I die or will not spawn on me.
AUGH!!! >_< >_< >_<
Yes, I had to vent. I know that a lot of the more selfish morons in the community play on city map servers (and no, I'm not saying that the reverse is also true, so don't lynch me :p ) so I really shouldn't expect much, but the one thing that pisses me off the most in this game isn't a Voss or an APM, it's when one team is organised and the other team has NO clue. And I'm not referring to clanstacked servers or anything, just average joe schmoes, where the enemy team gets the joes and I get the schmoes.
Thank you for attending. Don't forget to tip your waiter.

I will indulge this thread since yesterday was the worst day I have seen on any server and this is an exact summary of what I thought of my fellow players. They were so horrible that they couldnt even bring their shields down to 50% before our titan was destroyed. It was so bad the opposing team commented on turning the bots up. All I could do was agree, lol.
However, I did get some amusement watching them flip transports off the side of the titan or crush people on the flight deck and crash immediately afterwards.Comment

-I see guys fire LMGs at walkers all the time. Usually I'm the guy in the walker and an enemy, who I wouldn't have seen otherwise, starts spraying the LGM at me. I can't help but think "smart move buddy" as I turn around and unleash the fury of the dual .50 cal miniguns on him.Comment

I can really relate to medics not healing you. It happens all the flippin' time. I make a point of it to not only heal people who request it but anyone with an orange/red circle around their dot on the minimap, whether they ask or not (some sprint off as I'm trying to heal them).
Defibs and med hubs are like BF2142: God Mode. You don't die! Your teammates don't die! They fight harder with full health, and you benefit by association of being on the same team! It's win-win people.Comment

Sadly people never understand that, the only time I get a heal when using kits other than assault is when the commander finally rain me a supply box or when those vossy noobs die and I pick up their kit to get med hub, how pathetic it is.I can really relate to medics not healing you. Okay. That's the part where i really started laughing.
My thoughts are: Sadly, you need to play late at night. For some reason, the players seem to be more team oriented the later it gets. During the day it's the "schools out for summer folks" and they dont give a damn or they are new to the game.
Late at night though....all the girlfriends and wives are asleep and thats when we come out to play. And Im sure many of us will be damn, happy to pilot that walker and or take one or two for the team.
Anyway, thats my theory.Comment

Heh, yeah, I guess. I actually only play for a few hours after work (I usually start playing around 5pm PST) so I don't really have much of a choice when I play, but what you said makes sense. Ah well, I'll just have more things to rant about I guess. :pOkay. That's the part where i really started laughing.

one of the best threads I've read in a while...
@ the OP, let's add to the list issuing/following orders... SL's who don't issue orders used to tick me off 'cause I wanted the extra points... (since hitting BG, I could care less) but seriously, sometimes the VOIP doesn't work for everyone, so issuing an order via the com rose tells everyone in the squad where to go, and they have no excuse as to why they aren't there....
squad members who don't follow orders, are useless. That's why you're in a squad (I thought) to work together, it's amazing what can be accomplished when you run as a group. I find more and more that I say (using gibby example) attack central camp, me and a buddy run in, only to be outnumbered and killed... while dead, I look at my spawn screen and see 1 guy at harbor, 1 at toll, etc... :shakehead:
another peev is teams w/o a commander, but I've ranted enough...Comment

Oh yeah, that's another thing that gets my ire up. Also on Tunis, at the middle flag (don't remember what it's called...the one in between the two big fuel drums), I've been running along with a group of people, leading the charge with the Clark of Great Justice⢠only to discover that once I reach the flag and we have disposed of everyone there, the rest of the people with me stop advancing on the flag and instead choose to hump the ground near the building next to it. Now, were they to actually HELP me cap the flag, we could have had it neutralised long before anyone could have respawned, but instead they decide to give me 'covering fire', and I'm there at the flag trying to cap it alone. Needless to say, the enemies that were all wasted respawn at the flag, overwhelm me (I mean I love the Clark and all, but dayum), then kill off all of my 'help' who failed miserably at covering me. Some people just seem reluctant to try to the flags. Maybe they want to try to spawncamp for easy points, or maybe they're just allergic to the cotton that the flags are made of. Either way, if I die at a flag only to see a bunch of blue and green dots and plus signs just outside of it not making any effort to either come rez me or help me take the flag and finish the job I've started, I tend to get a bit irate. I don't mind dying while trying to take a flag, so long as the rest of my team makes a conscious effort to help me out or at least finish the job.one of the best threads I've read in a while...
