While I do agree that there are more new players, I haven't noticed any type of dramatic shift in tactics. People see what veteran players are doing and copy it to the best of their ability.

funny you say this I noticed alot of transports and gunships being flown to titan and then just dumped ie pilot pods or parachutes onto titan, without making attempt to land..so much so I was going to post on the forums yesterday about it...

Yesterday I decided to be a transport gunner for once (I always fly. If someone gets in before me I'll jump out and wait for another transport to spawn - believe me, it doesn't take long because the other pilots always seem to end up wrapping their transports around a lamppost.) and the pilot took off, flew over to the nearest silo, hovered for a second. Then jumped out and killed a full transport. Too high up to survive the fall, too low down to F1 and pull up in time.
This is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah I have noticed a heavy increase in general newbishness. You try to take advantage of it but most of the time you get cursed by being on their team.

People who dwell on rooftops the whole game and turtle.

Last night i had the strangest game ever. I hopped into a server and we were getting wasted then i noticed that we didn't have a commander. so logically got it, now its a 16 player server so i figured it was ok to fight too, by the middle of the round i was 45 and 10 not great but then im not a great player. the really weird thing was i had 3 guys following me constantly, I felt like a friggen commander sl. funniest thing was i was out of ammo so i turned around to get a dead guys kit and they followed me and waited around.

Ezekiel clan's server is amazing. I've never played on a server where the teamwork is that good. If you die, you literially have 2 or 3 people rushing over to rezz you =)

Even though alot of clan members are on at the same time, they keep the teams even and don't stack them with clanmates.

If you are tired of other lame servers, the UK Infantry server is worth checking out.

Now, now. There is absolutely no reason why the driver in question cannot be both drunk AND mentally challenged.

Disclaimer: No disrespect to younger gamers, I know some of you are good and know how to play honorably.

Very few of them. I tend to give very little respect to anyone under 16 these days until they've shown me they deserve even a touch of it through some semblance of mature thought and/or behavior.

The nature of a game like 2142 is that it rarely attracts that 'middle breed' of younger gamer, who is a kid in most senses of the word, but knows how to control their outbursts and behave around the grown-ups so that everyone has fun. More often you get the two extremes:

1) The 13 year old who doesn't act a day over 8, and whose every third word - both in text and in verbal communication - is either "omg", "wtf", "hax", "noob", "nublet", "nubcakes", "LOL", "cheaterz!", "rofl", or the dreaded "omg!!!1 roflmfao hehe"

2) The standard, adjusted adult who is here to play professionally and have a good time.

I don't know what it is about internet gaming, but it only attracts the two poles of the community - the "wow, a decent team-based shooter with good maps" folks - and the "wow a shiny gun, i wonder if i can shoot teammates with it!!!1" crowd.

This game should of added blood so it can become a rated M game. It wouldn't matter for some brats, but it would definitely drop a big number of kiddies playing this game.

i'd like to see some hardcore blood. I want to see someone's body cut in half from a Rorsch death. I want to see someone's head blow off when I snipe them. I want to see blood all over the floor / wall when I spray someone with the voss. I want to see blood all over my combat knife from killing slaney!
